Awesome Grand Theft Auto

Artist and designer Dom Riccobene painstakingly replicated the full single-player map of Los Santos from Grand Theft Auto V as a 3D model. Because of the size of his 3D printer, he broke the map down into 24 quadrants, then assembled each piece onto a 20″ x 30″ base. We enjoyed watching the map legend being carved too.

We’ve been grooving to the Gorillaz album Song Machine, Season One since it dropped, and their team-up with Beck on The Valley of the Pagans is one of our favorite tracks. Now, we have the official music video, which just happens to have been created in Grand Theft Auto V.

As good as the graphics have gotten in video games, the character animations aren’t always as convincing. In this hilarious video from Komazawa Isolation, the protagonist walks around Tokyo’s Shibuya district just like they do in third-person action games like Grand Theft Auto. The spot-on camera work seals the deal.

There have been lots of visual mods to Grand Theft Auto V since it was released back in 2013, but this one takes the cake. By upgrading shaders, textures, models, and rendering techniques, NaturalVision Evolved aims to revamp the game to take advantage of modern graphics chipsets. You can support the project on Patreon.

While LEGO has bent some of its rules about violence by offering weapons with some of its Star Wars sets, the brand is still pretty much about clean, wholesome fun. But that didn’t stop Nukazooka from imagining a LEGO movie based on the world of Grand Theft Auto.

JulioNIB’s Grand Theft Auto V mod lets you play as the Master of Magnetism. As Magneto, you can manipulate vehicles, even airplanes and trains. You can also deflect bullets, grab weapons and fire them, and turn wind turbines into giant blades of destruction.

Josh Romito’s massive mod for Grand Theft Auto V tweaks many aspects, but the most apparent are the graphical enhancements, which include 4K textures for many objects. It’s too saturated and shiny for us, but it still looks way better than the stock game.

The Dark Side of the Force meets the crazy side of Los Santos as Michael and Trevor duke it out Star Wars-style. Sadly this wasn’t made with a Grand Theft Auto V mod. YouTuber Boris the Blade spent a month and a half with After Effects to add the lightsabers.

YouTuber BlackSmoke Billy used a couple of mods for Grand Theft Auto V so that he could attach structures to vehicles and reduce the weight of cars in the game. He started with a mobile ramp and ended up with a freeway razor. Hilarious stuff.

Just like in the real world, life in Los Santos doesn’t have to have violence or drama all the time. YouTuber NeatMike gives us a taste of the modern-day role playing possibilities in Grand Theft Auto V with this relaxing machinima.

The great thing about PC games is all the fun hacks that can be applied to them. Here, we yet again learn what happens when you dial the friction down to -9 on all of the car tires in GTA IV. Like all things, it’s better with Yakety Sax.
