Awesome George Romero

Tom Spina Designs performs expert restorations of movie props and costumes. They were asked to restore the fluffy monster puppet from George Romero and Stephen King’s Creepshow. This time-lapse shows how they freshened their faces and hands with help from VFX masters Greg Nicotero and Tom Savini and built it a wooden display crate.

Between filming Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead, zombie auteur George A. Romero worked on another movie that was lost to time. Now, Shudder has worked with the late director’s foundation to restore this allegorical film about an elderly man and the torment he encounters at an amusement park.

Video essayist Kaptain Kristian explores the film that created the zombie genre as we know it today, and how the misstep of not displaying a copyright notice on George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead created a self-replicating monster all of its own.

The Crazies gets a full-length second trailer; in case you missed the first one, it’s a remake of George Romero’s 1973 classic about funny tasting water and not-so-funny locals.
