Awesome Gears Of War

A look at co-op multiplayer mode (available split-screen or online) in the upcoming shooter. The game adds crazy environmental effects, a badass new 5-player horde mode, and supports Xbox Play Anywhere, letting you play one copy on both Xbox One and Windows 10.

The cinematic teaser for Xbox One shooter Gears of War 4 sees JD Fenix – son of previous franchise hero Marcus – return to his home under very different circumstances. The game is set 25 years after GoW 3 and features a new enemy called the Swarm. More here.

Artist Griffon Ramsey carves out the Gears of War logo from a tree trunk using a chainsaw in this fitting tribute to the third game in the series. Music is Martha Marin’s cover of Heron Blue.

EpicMealTime really has hit the big time. First the cameo in Gymkhana 4, now they’re promoting Gears of War 3 by making a literal meat shield. The delicious armor was tested by FPSRussia.

The folks at Epic Games talk about the progression of their hit shooter, and how the final installment in the trilogy has the most personal story, and show off a bit more in-game footage and cinematics.

Enhancements to Horde mode include Lambent attacks, boss battles, and resupply objective points. The new fortification system lets you set barriers, decoys, turrets and even your own mech.

Slated to hit when Gears of War 3 arrives this Fall, this special-edition Xbox 360 Slim gets the full GOW treatment, with blood-red artwork, matching controllers, a copy of GOW3 and a 320GB HD.

The Lambent is nigh: in the latest E3 trailer for Gears of War 3, a mysterious message that Marcus Fenix receives from his father sends him on a dangerous search mission to find him. Out 9/2011.

This life-sized replica of the Lancer assault rifle from Gears of War is over 3.5ft long and has a machine gun sound effect. It can also be purchased with Gears of War 3 via a couple of bundles.

Rod Fergusson of Epic Games shows off some of the new features of the Gears of War 3 multiplayer, including new weapons, weapon skins, a detailed overhead map, enemy tagging and more.

Even if you own one of the games in the series, this is still quite a deal. Bundles Gears of War 1 and 2, along with GoW 2: All Fronts Collection, which adds a bonus campaign and 19 multiplayer maps.

Thanks to Gears of War 3’s new Beast Mode, you can turn the tables and play as Locusts, Boomers, Berzerkers, Wretches and other nasties. IGN shows us a brief glimpse at the gameplay in this vid clip.
