Awesome Fire

This updated version of FLÎKR’s tabletop fireplace offers an even sleeker design, with a quartz-like base. It burns smokeless isopropyl rubbing alcohol, providing a warm glow and a little heat wherever you place it. You can even cook S’mores over its food-safe fire.

We’re not sure what this compact German flamethrower was originally used for, but it is a fascinating bit of kit. When SlivkiShow got their hands on it, it was in pretty rough shape, but by the end of this video, it’s looking and working as well as it ever has.

Elide Fire makes this innovative firefighting device – a ball that can be tossed into a fire to instantly extinguish or reduce its intensity. The ball automatically deploys upon contact with a flame and smothers it with a blanket of non-toxic chemicals. It can also be placed in a high-risk location where it will activate in case of fire.

ThinAir3D is an expert at 3D modeling and 3D printing. After designing a realistic model of a fire hydrant with a hidden stash box, he printed it using Protopasta’s iron composite PLA filament, which allowed him to apply a realistic rust finish. Remember those grade school volcanoes we made from vinegar and baking soda? This mini volcano is a bit more dangerous. Play to DIY built the volcano from cardboard and string, then covered its exterior with crushed-up matchstick heads. Despite being submerged in an aquarium, it’s quite incendiary.

While its maker Imagine Metal Art doesn’t explicitly call this fiery tower Barad-dûr, it’s clear that it was inspired by The Lord of the Rings’ dark fortress and its watchful eye. This impressive 5-foot-tall steel fire pit breathes flames throughout and features The One Ring design at its base.

But horror producer Blumhouse thinks it’s time to revisit the Steven King classic story about a little girl with pyrokinetic powers, and her struggles to control her abilities and focus them only on the bad guys. The Q decided that ordinary matches weren’t big enough for him, so he went ahead and made five giant-sized matches out of wood, rope, and a homemade mix of incendiary chemicals like the ones on a real match head. To complete the set, he built a wooden matchbox with a sandpaper striker on its side.
