Awesome Fingerstyle

We’ve heard several amazing performances by the talented guitarist Marcin Patrzalek. His latest is a cover of Derek & The Dominos 1970 track Layla. While nobody will ever live up to Eric Clapton and Duane Allman, Marcin’s percussive fingerstyle technique adds a new depth and dynamic to the rock classic.

Luca Stricagnoli takes on another Muse song with a performance of Hysteria on his unique triple-necked acoustic guitar. As his fingers fly across the three fretboards, Luca captures the original track’s massive energy despite being a solo musician.

Guitarist Luca Stricagnoli performs one of our favorite Muse tracks, applying his extraordinary fingerstyle technique to Knights of Cydonia. Musician João Fuss arranged and performed this fantastic classical guitar version of the Marilyn Manson track The Beautiful People. It’s still got the great staccato sound of the original but with a stripped-down fingerstyle approach. His acoustic covers of Black Hole Sun and Otherside are similarly wonderful.

Luca Stricagnoli is a master of acoustic guitar. His cover of the Arctic Monkeys’ track Do I Wanna Know? doesn’t involve as many guitar necks as some of his other arrangements, but it’s every bit as entertaining. Luca’s fingerstyle technique and guitar drumming add so much depth to his performance.

Guitarist Lucas Imbiriba brings his warm and soulful style to the Eagles classic Hotel California. His fingerstyle skills are truly impressive, and the track sounds fantastic in this stripped-down acoustic version. Looking for some weekend ear candy? Put on your headphones and crank it up the volume to 11 for Marcin Patrzalek’s excellent acoustic cover of Eurythmics 1983 hit Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), with a nod to Marilyn Manson’s dark and creepy 1995 version.

Ein. Zwei. Drei. Vier… Hier kommt die Sonne. Guitarist Alexandr Misko gives the Rammstein song Sonne a totally new, yet awesome sound. He still manages to capture the aggressive energy of the original but still makes it all his own.

Never gonna stop, give it up. The Knack’s track My Sharona was one of the biggest earworms of the late ’70s and early ’80s. Guitarist Luca Stricagnoli gives the song his own groovy style with an energetic acoustic guitar cover. We thought we might miss the drumbeat, but Luca gives us plenty of rhythm from the guitar’s wooden body.

Musician Luca Stricagnoli wows us with another flawless acoustic guitar performance, this time taking on Michael Jackson’s 1987 hit Smooth Criminal. The only thing cooler than playing it on a a triple-necked guitar would be if Luca could moonwalk at the same time.

The talented guitar quartet 40 Fingers present a warm and enveloping acoustic arrangement of The Police classic Message in a Bottle. They performed the track on a beach for the best chance of finding someone’s S.O.S. message on the shore.

When he was 14, musician Mike Dawes heard Eddie Van Halen play guitar and says it rocked his world. Now, put on your headphones and let the sound envelop you as Mike pays tribute to Eddie’s namesake with an acoustic cover of the 1984 hit Jump. Perhaps Mike will inspire some young musicians with his impeccable playing too.

Musician Stefano Barone performs a unique cover version of Daft Punk’s Robot Rock, with the main rhythm being provided by his acoustic guitar. He rounds out the one-man show with a combination of looping, voice processing, and other effects. A studio version of the track is available on Apple Music.

Marcin Patrzalek is one of the most talented guitarists we’ve ever heard. Musician Luca Stricagnoli takes on yet another genre and proves that it can sound great on an acoustic guitar. His fingerstyle cover version of The Bee Gees disco hit Stayin’ Alive will have you busting out your white polyester suits and busting out your best dance moves.

The driving rhythms in many of Eminem’s tunes lend themselves surprisingly well to being played on an acoustic guitar. Musician Alexandr Misko offers an exceptional fingerstyle take on some of Slim Shady’s songs, incorporating his own vocal stylings.
