It’s easy to find toy cars that are powered by rubber bands. On the other hand, it seems that nobody is making human-size vehicles that run on rubber band power. Joel Creates set out to solve this problem by replacing the engine in a lightweight Goblin kit car with an elastic-powered one. Like toy cars, it needs to be pulled back to store energy for a ride.

Gerber’s hyper-minimal wallet consists of a stainless steel frame and an elastic strap. It holds up to seven cards and/or paper currency, and has a built-in bottle opener. Its bottom edge has a built-in bumper to align cards and keep them from falling out.

Common sense tells us that if you drop a rubber ball, it will never bounce higher than you dropped it from unless you add energy by throwing it. But at first glance, the ball that The Action Lab shows in this clip defies the laws of physics. Of course, it doesn’t really, but it’s a neat trick.

Drawing in perspective allows artists to create 2D images with the illusion of depth. Rob of BK Architecture shows us how you can easily create 2-point perspective by drawing along an elastic cord strung between two push pins manipulated by a paperclip. A single pushpin can be used to draw a fisheye perspective.
