Awesome Dragons

PyroGirl turns into the Mother of Dragons with this awesome mod. You see, she took a toy figure of Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon, and added a tiny flamethrower to it. Now the little guy can actually breathe fire, laying waste to everything standing in its way.

Whether you’re the Breaker of Chains, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, or simply The Unburnt, you can now add Mother (or Father) of Dragons to your title with these golden egg-shaped candles, each of which reveals a ceramic baby dragon as it melts.

Amazing footage from Sueños de Agua, an epic projection mapping performance put on last year in Seville, Spain. Of particular note is how the dragons breathe real fire, thanks to synchronization with the pyrotechnics. Skip to 8:00 if you can’t watch the whole show.

IGN’s look at pre-alpha gameplay footage of Scalebound, an upcoming Xbox One hack-and-slash fighter first teased at E3 2014, in which players must team up with a giant dragon companion to help defeat fierce enemies.

La Machine’s Long Ma is a 50′ tall dragon horse puppet that expels fire and steam. The French puppeteers recently put on a show in Beijing featuring Long Ma and their other famous puppet, the giant spider La Princesse.

Hong Kong-based sculptor Johnson Tsang loves to push the limits of ceramic art. One of his latest pieces is A Painful Pot, an incredible vase being constricted by a dragon. You can see work in progress shots on his website.

Zollner Elektronik’s record-breaking 11-ton robotic dragon was built for a play in Germany. It can walk on its own, is over 51 feet long and has a 40 foot wingspan. Oh, did we happen to mention it breathes fire and squirts stage blood?

Inspired by How to Train Your Dragon, R/C builder Richard Hamel built a jet-powered craft that looks like a dragon. If that’s weren’t awesome enough, it breathes fire. We want to see it fly, though.

We’ve seen cats take on alligators, but it turns out cats hate dragons just as much – especially this one in World of Warcraft. Apparently, it’s a popular pastime. Try it with your cat and report back.

This Queen of the Black Marsh trailer for Dragon Age: Origins: Awakenings may be short, but it fills us in on the tesla-fied dragon; it ain’t no Disney Electrical Parade, that’s for sure.

In theaters 3/26/10, Dreamworks’ How to Train Your Dragon is every child (and child at heart’s) dream come true: it features Vikings, misunderstood lizards, and all-you-can-eat sheep.

This Sacred Ashes trailer for Dragon Age: Origins may be cinematic, but we enjoyed the tag-team, LOTR-style combat and face time with a dragon; note to self: do NOT piss off the ladies.

Although most of Dragon Age: Origin’s previous trailers have used heavy metal, this Music featurette gives us a peek at a far more epic, sweeping score a-la Lord of the Rings.
