Niklas Roy made getting beer a lot more fun. He cobbled together a remote-controlled platform that can carry a standard-sized beer crate (or any similarly sized item) out of plywood, electronics from an RC car, windshield wiper motors and casters.

Inspire to Make shows off a neat project you can do with one of those 3Doodler pens. By using a glass lampshade as a form, then doodling shapes over the shade, you can create a one-of-a-kind original shade.

While you could go spend over $1000 on an electric skateboard, you could also do what Inspire to Make did, and build one using a power drill, an extension bit holder, and a couple of other off-the-shelf items. Total cost: less than $500. Perfect for a literal cheapskate.

It took quite a bit of planning and engineering prowess, but the end result of Daniel Perdomo’s recreation of Atari’s arcade classic PONG as a game played with mechanical paddles and ball cube is quite impressive. (Thanks Philip!)

FORMcard is a pocket-sized thermoplastic sheet. It becomes pliable when dipped in hot water, allowing you to repair or augment objects or even make impromptu tools. It’s made from a starch-based bioplastic so it’s completely biodegradable.

MrGear shows us how to create a rudimentary, yet completely usable hot-wire foam cutter using nothing more than a couple of popsicle sticks, a 9V battery, hot glue, a switch, and some wire. The only downside is you have to make it again every time the battery runs out.

It’s the rainy season in Savage Land Queensland, so Primitive Technology thought that it’s time for his alter ego to make some clothes. He spent a few days making yarn out of fiber and about a day to weave it into a rough fabric using his handmade loom.

YouTuber Rulof Maker made a simple compressed air pistol primarily out of discarded objects. The main components are the valve from an empty fire extinguisher and some dry ice. He made the pistol’s body out of wood to give it a steampunk vibe.

Modelmaker Luke Towan walks us through the painstaking process of building a tiny tree for a model railroad. It requires time and patience, but the end result is quite realistic, and the video is as soothing as watching Bob Ross paint. His teensy hay bales are nuts too.

Builder Peter Brown melted together 256 Crayola crayons in a cake pan, then transformed the resulting block into a colorful flower vase using a drill press and a lathe. There’s something immensely satisfying about watching the waxy shavings go flying.

YouTuber DaveHax shows us how to make our own magnetic slime or putty. It’s actually very simple; all you need is some PVA glue, powdered borax and iron filings. This homemade version won’t last long though.
