Awesome Countries

While there have been flags associated with Antarctica, they have never been official. That’s because Antarctica isn’t a country. CGP Grey explains how this enormous land mass is dotted with scientific outposts representing numerous countries and how it ended up with its various flags over the years.

With his tongue firmly in cheek, Kevin Baugh created his own sovereign nation – in the desert of Western Nevada. His self-proclaimed nation has its own flag, currency, national sport, and even a navy. The country isn’t officially recognized, but it seems like a nice place to live – as long as you’re a member of Kevin’s family.
