Craig J. Clark created this unofficial music video for Jonathan Coulton and John Roderick’s modern holiday classic One Christmas at a Time, using only footage from the hilariously awful 1978 show The Star Wars Holiday Special, which you must watch if you’ve never seen it before.
(PG-13: Language) “Please remember, I am making none of this up.” We all know about Santa and Krampus, but in Europe there are other Christmas folklore characters that are not so popular. Why? Because they belong more to Halloween, as Sam O’Nella University explains.
In the spirit of the holidays, Jack Daniel’s Distillery built five huge whiskey barrel trees in Chicago, Dallas, Milwaukee, Nashville and Lynchburg. One auctioned barrel from each will benefit Operation Ride Home, bringing US military home for the holidays.
Now that Thanksgiving is over, we can officially play Christmas music without feeling too guilty about it. If you’re tired of traditional carols, then sit back and rock out to Leo Moracchioli’s very special edition of Jimmy Boyd’s jolly little ditty I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.
A great stocking stuffer for fans of the holiday classic Home Alone. This fun story book is done up in the style of classic kid’s books, with bold and colorful illustrations of Kevin McAllister as his parents leave him behind to take on a couple of bumbling burglars all by himself. They’ve also illustrated the sequel.
The Flaming Lips’ ringleader Wayne Coyne loves Christmas, though it’s hard to tell from this surreal “Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth” video, an homage (sorta) to the famous David Bowie/Bing Crosby duet. The track was recorded live at Coyne’s Pink Floor Studios in Oklahoma City, and arrives as a single 11/29/19.

Every holiday season, we can rely on UK retailer John Lewis to provide us with a charming Christmas commercial. We already have Die Hard on our annual Christmas viewing list, but if you don’t, this official trailer that 20th Century Fox just dropped should convince you that it belongs there, right alongside A Christmas Story, Home Alone, It’s a Wonderful Life, and Elf.
Colin Furze’s Christmas project is simple by his standards, but we imagine it still must have involved quite the conversation between him and his family. He felled a 26 foot-tall tree, chopped it into three pieces and made it look like it was sticking out his house.
Switch things up for the holidays by displaying Treetopia’s Knocked Upside-down Christmas Tree. Not only does it look funny, it also takes up less floor space so you can fit it even in small rooms. It comes with 500 clear lights, a stand, a foot switch and extra bulbs and fuses.
