For those who can never have enough megapixels, the Phase One 645 camera packs a hefty 60 MP; the professional-grade camera will work with glass from Leica, Mamiya and Hartblei.

The latest 14 megapixel point and shoot to join the fray, Sigma’s DP2 camera actually manages to squeeze in a DSLR sensor and lens that is equivalent to 41mm on a 35mm SLR.

Made Products’ no-nonsense, zipperless Seattle Sling is an impact-resistant bag that also keeps dirt, dust, sand and water out; it’s targeted towards globe trekking photographers.

At 37 megapixels, the Leica S2 is the M8.2’s, bigger, more powerful brother. It’s targeted towards medium format photographers, and offers the versatility and speed of a DSLR camera.

Pentax’s K2000 is a 10.2 MP entry-level DSLR for point-and-shoot upgraders. It has a small body and simplified controls, but still gets image stabilization and a quick burst mode.

The Canon SD990 is the new top of the line ELPH, packing a massive 14.7 megapixels. You’ll also get 3.7x optical zoom, 1/1600s shutter speed, and the DIGIC 4 image processor.

Like the Olympus SP-565, Canon’s SX10 is ideal for shooting from afar, with a 20x optical zoom and image stabilization. This 10 MP camera also captures hi-res stills while shooting video.

Speed demons will love the Casio EX-FH20, which can shoot movies at 1,000 fps and do burst shots at 40 fps. It’s a user-friendly and lighter alternative to its big brother, the EX-F1.

Canon’s EOS 5D Mark II is a shot across the Nikon D90’s bow, as it also features full HD recording; it’s packed to the gills, with 21.1 MP, a full-frame CMOS sensor and max 25.6k ISO.

Targeted towards well-heeled camera connoisseurs with a six grand price point, the Leica M8.2 gets luxuries such as a metal blade focal plane shutter and sapphire crystal screen.

Lomo’s Action Sampler is a novelty 35mm camera that takes four pictures in one second, and then combines them into a single print. It’s a cheaper version of their Fisheye.

Not quite a DSLR yet not quite a point and shoot, Panasonic’s 12.1MP Lumix DMC-G1 uses a micro four thirds system that loses the mirror and prism but allows for swappable lens.

The Sony Alpha DSLR-A900’s chief bragging point is a 24.6MP 35 mm full-frame CMOS sensor. However, CNET reports that noise seems to be above average at high ISOs.

LG has unveiled the KC910 Renoir, a sleek successor to its Viewty cellphone. It sports a spacious 3″ touchscreen, 8 megapixel camera and 3G HSDPA; it’ll be available 10/08.

It’s not a DSLR, but the Olympus SP-565 UZ’s anti-blur tech and impressive 20x wide-angle optical zoom make this perfect for “close-up” shots–the non-peeping kind, of course.

Sony Ericsson’s C905 Cyber-Shot is packed to the gills: it features an 8.1 MP camera, geo-tagging, accelerometer, GPS and Wi-Fi. All this, plus quad-band support and an FM radio.

The Lomo Fisheye is a 35mm camera with a built-in fisheye lens and viewfinder. The “B” shutter takes night photos; the multiple shutter switch crams several shots into one frame.

The Sony DSC-T500 is a video friendly alternative to the T700. The 10.1 MP camera loses 4GB of internal memory, but gains 720p HD quality video recording with HDMI out to your HDTV.

The Nikon D90 is the first DSLR with video recording; yes, you can use any lens attached to the camera body (fisheye anyone?). Other specs: max ISO 6400, 12.3 megapixels.
