Awesome Beastie Boys

Two of our favorite bands are Daft Punk and Beastie Boys. So when Dangerous Minds turned us on to this 2014 remix album by producer Peter Chapman aka COINS, we had turn it up loud. The free-to-play album includes eight amazing remixes, kicking things off with a groovy combo of Alive and Intergalactic.

Super7 pays homage to the Beastie Boys and their track Sabotage. The 3.75″ figures feature Ad-Rock, MCA, and Mike D in their music video personas: Vic Colfari as Bobby, “The Rookie,” Nathan Wind as Cochese, and Alasondro Alegré as “The Chief.” Vic has a donut, The Chief gets a walkie-talkie, and Cochese has two bananas for his holsters.

Before visitors reach your doorbell, get right to the point with the original Beastie Boys welcome mat by Happy Matz. The flocked coir mat asks the musical question “So, what‘cha, what’cha, what’cha want?” Or opt for another Beasties lyric for frequent deliveries: “mmmmm… DROP (unless it says fragile).”

Resident metalhead Leo Moracchioli takes us to another dimension and a new galaxy with his angry, gravel-voiced version of the Beastie Boys’ 1998 track Intergalactic. While nobody can possibly top Ad-Rock, Mike D, and MCA, Leo’s take on the track is certainly entertaining.

You’ve gotta fight… for your right… to beach party! If The Beastie Boys sang like The Beach Boys, it might sound something like Kevin Miller’s clever rework of Fight for Your Right set to the tune of I Get Around. We can totally imagine a video with the Beasties riding the waves on surf boards.

Who ya gonna call? The Beastie Boys, that’s who! For his Halloween 2020 mashup, remixer William Maranci managed to combine Ray Parker, Jr.’s Ghostbusters theme with Mike D, MCA, and Ad-Rock’s hit Intergalactic. We can totally see them wearing proton packs with their white and yellow uniforms.

Shortly before the release of Beastie Boys Story on Apple TV+, Universal Music Group records assembled 31 remastered music videos into a single playlist. Director Spike Jonze filmed this Beastie Boys documentary in front of a live audience. It features interviews with Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz, and loads of classic footage, as they reminisce about their 40 years of friendship and the illustrious history of the band. Brass Against presents another amazing rock cover track – an appropriately loud and brutish take on Beastie Boys’ 1994 classic Sabotage, led off by the vocals of Sophia Urista, and just the right amount of chaos.

Let Beastie Boys members Adrock and Mike D walk you through their story in “revealing and funny accounts”, from their amateur days to the release of their classic albums. Also features contributions from their friends such as Spike Jonze and Wes Anderson.

The Beastie Boys’ Paul’s Boutique is one of the greatest rap albums of all time. As was the case with most of their tunes, they relied heavily on samples to create their beats. In this clip from Nama Hecc, they provide a comparison of each track with the samples they so brilliantly incorporated.

We love a good musical mashup, and this is one of the best we’ve heard in a while. 888sentz posted this track by Bass211, which perfectly combines Stevie Wonder’s Superstition, Cypress Hill’s Insane in the Brain, Run-DMC’s My adidas, and a dash of Beastie Boys’ an open letter to new york.

Using post-production trickery, comedian and actor Jimmy Slonina multiplied himself for this spirited lip sync performance of the Beastie Boys 1987 classic Brass Monkey. It’s supremely entertaining, even if Jimmy looks really pissed off when he emotes.

What doesn’t work for one Star… actually works well with another Star. YouTuber Matthew Longua tried the Star Trek Beyond tactic, mashing up Beastie Boys’ Sabotage with the trailer for Rogue One, which is actually about sabotage.

We’ve heard Steve ‘N’ Seagulls amazing bluegrass cover version of AC/DC’s Thunderstruck, but during an episode of A.V. Undercover they proved they were no one-hit wonder, with this equally unexpected and entertaining cover of Sabotage.

“I hope no bad people show up.” Goofball Mario Wienerroither strips the music from the Beastie Boys’ classic Fight for Your Right (to Party) and turns it a regular old party. Assuming the parties you go to are like the ones we attend.

A completely nonsensical, yet hilarious parody of Beastie Boys’ classic Sabotage, as recreated by librarians. That’s right kids – no more running in the aisles, and be sure to return your books on time. From The Mike and Duane Show.

Vimeo user Chester Fielder wanted a doo doo rhyme, so he created a full version of the Wonderful Creative’s Sesame Street x Beastie Boys mashup. You can’t, you won’t and you don’t stop!

Listen all y’all, it’s a children’s remake of Spike Jonze’s music video of the Beastie Boys’ 1994 hit Sabotage. James Winters and his wife made the video with the help of his kids and his nephew.

Adam Yauch aka MCA of the Beastie Boys passed away due to cancer on May 4, 2012. Coldplay paid tribute to MCA with this solemn cover of (You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!). RIP, MCA.

The Sesame Street gang busts out some classic Beastie Boys rhymes with their muppet-ized rendition of Sure Shot. We had no idea that Grover could handle the flute so adeptly.
