Awesome Banjos

John Carpenter’s Halloween not only gave us the terrifying serial killer Michael Myers, but one of the best movie themes ever. Foggy Mountain Spaceship pays tribute to Carpenter’s classic score with a trio of banjos and a driving synthesizer backing track. Other than Hitchcock’s Psycho, we can’t think of a more memorable horror movie theme.

The Vince Guaraldi Trio’s Linus and Lucy from A Charlie Brown Christmas brings happy memories flooding in. While the jazzy original was performed on piano, bass, and drums, Foggy Mountain Spaceship gave it a twangy new sound by playing the track on banjos.
