Awesome Bananas

Casetify teamed up with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts to create this playful tribute to Warhol’s pop art banana prints. The ridiculously oversized case won’t fit in your pocket, but if you buy one of these, you’ll want it to be seen. The case comes in iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro sizes and includes three Chiquita-inspired stickers.

Artist Bobby Duke is one wacky dude, and we’re good with that. For this build, he thought it would be fun to make a concealed weapon that looks like a banana. After popping by Walmart to grab a banana, he went to the knife store to find a curved blade, then went back to his studio to grind, cut, and carve out the primate’s weapon of choice.

Answering the question, “Is that an aluminum banana in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me?,” Brigid walks us through the steps of casting a perfect replica of the yellow fruit out of aluminum. The process involves placing a real banana in sand, delicately removing it, pouring in molten metal, trimming off the excess, then polishing it to a shine.

Pastry and chocolate expert Amaury Guichon shows off another of his masterful edible creations. While this may look exactly like a banana, it’s a deliciously-complex gourmet dessert filled with a banana bread sponge, banana caramel, banana mouse, pecan streusel, and coated with crunchy chocolate.

Remember when you were a kid and you pretended a banana was a telephone? Well, now you can talk to someone on the other end of the line thanks to the Banana Phone. This fruity accessory connects via Bluetooth, so you can make and receive calls on it. It doubles as a speaker, though bananas aren’t known for their acoustics.
