Just because something can be done doesn’t mean it should be done. But that didn’t stop Cullen and the crew from Up North Outdoors from building the dumbest 3-wheel ATV ever. They started with a Honda 200M all-terrain cycle, chopped it up, and added a tall metal frame to get its rider over 12 feet off the ground. Naw, this thing doesn’t look sketchy at all.

A typical ATV has four wheels, and a tank rolls on tracks driven by several smaller wheels. This unique ATV from Finland marches to the beat of a different drummer, rolling on 18 wheels, each with its own motor and springy suspension. Invented by Eldar Aliev, the 18-wheeler can crawl over rocks up to 14″ tall, fallen trees, ride through water, and even climb stairs.

Got an old ATV and a moped sitting in your garage? You could take them to the junkyard, or you could do what Meanwhile in the Garage did and turn them into a tank for your kid. Of course, there was much more to it than rearranging parts. Quantum Tech HD boiled down the laborious 6-month project into a 20-minute video.

Designed to perform in thick mud, the Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 High Lifter features high-mounted air intakes and clutch ducting to keep clean air flowing. It has an 85 hp engine, on-demand AWD, and rolls on mud-happy 30″ Outlaw 2 tires for 13.5″ of ground clearance, and comes with a 3500 lb. factory-installed winch.

Vanderhall Motor Works is working on a Jeep-like pure-electric ATV. It has four motors, rides on 35″ tires and 18″ wheels, and has a crazy 22″ of suspension travel. The base model makes 303 hp and 360 lb-ft of torque, while the top-of-the-line GTS makes 404 hp and 480 lb-ft. of torque. Sadly, it’s not street legal. (Thanks, Craig!)

The Sherp is one of the most capable all-terrain vehicles we’ve seen.It can handle all kinds of muddy and wet terrain, but how does it do in the city? Grind Hard Plumbing Co., Rich Rebuilds, and Electrified Garage attempted to drive one to Boston via the Charles River, but their journey was not without its problems.

This rugged amphibious vehicle uses four hydraulic wheel motors to move its tracks just like a military tank. It can crawl over just about any terrain, through swamps and mud, and is is equipped with heavy duty componentry for longevity. It can also be equipped with a cockpit shell and even an air-conditioned interior.

Kawasaki’s side-by-side UTV packs 2.5″ Fox shocks, offering 18.6″ of wheel travel in front and 21.1″ in the rear, and has a longer wheelbase and wider footprint than the competition. It rides on enormous 31″ x 10″ tires, wrapped around beadlock rims, and looks particularly badass in Lime Green with Metallic Onyx Black.

Designed for easy riding on rugged off-road trails, Polaris’ new General crossover packs a 100 hp engine, a wide 64″ footprint, and an impressive 13.5″ ground clearance for riding over just about anything. The XP 1000 is the two-seater, while the XP 1000 4 seats four. Both models can tow and haul up to 1500 pounds too.

All that remains from the Disney Princess Power Wheels Jeep is its pink plastic shell, but The Grind Hard Plumbing Co.’s latest build is simply awesome. The tricked out one-seater now has a 50hp CRF 450 dirt bike engine, and an off-road suspension, making for tons of fun in the dirt.

DSRaider’s EZRaider is a four-wheeled electric all-terrain scooter. It’s size and foldable form lets you easily transport and ride it anywhere. It lasts up to 25mi per charge and goes up to 30mph. It also has more practical 2WD and 4WD variants. Also available from Gold Coast.

DRR USA’s Stealth Electric ATV uses an electric motor that produces power equivalent to a 400cc engine, allowing it to silently travel up to 35 mph. It has a 65 mi range and charges from any outlet. It has disc brakes, dual a-arm suspension, and front and rear racks.

The Azaris ATV is one of Ferox’s proof-of-concept designs for its technology. Instead of using a drivetrain to deliver power, the Azaris’ engine – it can be gas or electric – pumps a water-based fluid to each of the six wheels, driving their in-wheel motors.

Polaris collaborated with High Lifter Products to create a variant of its Sportsman XP 1000 ATV that can easily take on them muddiest terrain. The ATV has High Lifter tires, custom wheels, mud specific transmission, stiffer springs, a rack-mounted radiator and more.

We just cracked our piggy bank open and see that we have $300K in there, so it’s time to treat ourselves to this handsome fellow. You and three pals can check out the scene above and below the water surface, and can drive it right off a trailer into the water. See you in the pool.

The RZR RS1 is based on the RZR XP 1000 but with a lighter chassis and a center-cockpit setup. That means better visibility and stability, especially when ripping through corners. It has a 110hp 4-stroke twin cylinder engine, 16″ travel front suspension and 18″ travel rear suspension.

Honda’s concept autonomous ATV is designed to work like a robotic pack mule, carrying loads to work sites, and also performing tasks like plowing snow, tilling soil, or harvesting crops with attachment modules. It’s rugged, has a 4-wheel drivetrain, and runs on electric power.

The latest version of Howe & Howe’s all-terrain vehicle for wheelchair users has a 29hp 4-stroke engine, a 1,000lb draw bar pull, an emergency override and alarm. It can go up to 10mph and can be customized with cup and fishing rod holders, lights, a winch and more.

To promote its Open Country tires, Toyo Tires worked with Action Vehicle Engineering to create a one-off ATV. It’s based on a 1959 Ferret Scout, a British armored reconnaisance vehicle. It has a third pair of hydraulically-driven wheels to help it conquer rough terrain.

An amphibious all-terrain cart with a 140hp gas engine and Gibbs’ jet drive. It transforms in seconds, goes up to 50mph on land and up to 45mph on water. Gibbs also has aa amphibious motorcycle coming, but not even Space Sheriff Shaider could look cool on it.

The HexHog is an electric all-terrain wheelchair. Its flexible chassis keeps its wheels in contact with even the roughest ground. Its adjustable seat lets riders get on without assistance. Top speed is 8.5mph and range is 12mi.

The Maverick X ds can be equipped with a turbocharged engine that delivers 121hp and 96lb.ft. of torque, making it the most powerful stock UTV. It also has new independent rear suspension and CVT with better airflow.

We’ve featured a handful of one-of-a-kind all-terrain vehicles, but none of them are as crazy as Howe & Howe’s Mini Ripsaw. It’s based on an ’09 Polaris Sportsman 850XP and fitted with Howe & Howe’s huge-ass Ripsaw treads.
