Awesome Aladdin

Inspired by Disney’s Aladdin, this daredevil took to the skies on a flying carpet. Over the past two decades, alladin_skylab has flown with all sorts of gear, from wingsuits to hang gliders, but this was his first time flying on an actual magic carpet. MLT Drone Pilots followed along and recorded the journey. Here’s a different angle of the flight.

David Scott of Enbiggen is known for making virtual marble machines inspired by pop culture. This musical machine celebrates the world of Aladdin with an enchanting rendition of A Whole New World performed on xylophone bars.

Musician 826aska performs a spirited arrangement of the track Friend Like Me on her electronic organ. While we will always miss Robin Williams, her version serves as a delightful and uplifting tribute. Action filmmaker Devin Supertramp and his crew headed to the historic streets of Uzbekistan to play out a chase sequence inspired by Disney’s Aladdin. Parkour athlete Calen Chan plays our protagonist as he bounces off walls, tears through alleyways, and bounces off rooftops to avoid the baddies. POV footage here.

“But oh, to be free… to be my own master.” ScreenPrism argues that Aladdin has a nice message about freedom. The heroes each have different kinds of freedom. In the end, they learn that to maximize their own freedom, they should help others be more free as well.
