Maggie Gyllenhaal directed this revamp of The Bride of Frankenstein. Set in 1930s Chicago, the story follows the monster’s quest for companionship, leading to the creation of a bride in a tale of love, murder, possession, and cultural upheaval. Stars Jessie Buckley, Christian Bale, Annette Bening, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Penélope Cruz. In theaters 3.4.26.

This music video came out in late 2023 but is too good to ignore. Directed and animated by Everfresh and accompanied by Caravan Palace’s neo-swing track MAD, the hilariously weird clip drops us into a 1930s-style cartoon world where musical cockroaches live in a secret world inside our bodies.

Fumi Games’ FPS combines the black-and-white, rubber hose animation style of 1930s cartoons with high-intensity action. Think Cuphead meets Serious Sam.
