Cole Paviour, James Medcraft, UNIT9, and Machine Shop teamed up to devise a fountain which “prints” 3D liquid images. Combined with camera gear from ARRI Rental and Mark Roberts Motion Control they turned the images into a stop-motion animation. BTS here.

The latest stop-motion animated film from Nick Park, of Wallace & Gromit and Creature Comforts fame. It’s set in prehistoric times and features the voices of Eddie Redmayne, Tom Hiddleston, Maisie Williams, Timothy Spall, Richard Ayoade, and more.

Netflix keeps the original content rolling with this goofy-looking stop-motion animated series about a dog who loves to race semi trucks, and the quirky array of characters in his life. From the animators behind Robot Chicken, and the creators of Care Bears. Yup. Drops 3/10/17.

Director Paul Greer and Vanguard Pictures present another action-packed, CGI-free, stop-motion animated short created with toy cars as the characters. Oddly enough, their nemesis is… a glove. Watch it alone, or as part of the Nitro Warriors Anthology.

An award-winning stop-motion animated film about a boy with an unusual name, and his journey to fit in at a foster home after the loss of his mother. The French/Swiss film been redubbed in English with voices by Will Forte, Nick Offerman, Ellen Page and Amy Sedaris.

If you haven’t seen Kubo and the Two Strings yet, you must. It’s simply one of the greatest achievements in animation ever. Then watch this 16-minute behind the scenes reel, which shows off some of the stop-motion, miniatures, VFX, and voiceover work that went into the film.

Dropbear Digital’s incredible music video for Dan Sultan’s track Magnetic was created through a mix of 3D printing, stop-motion, and projection mapping techniques to bring the singer’s digitized avatar to life. The behind-the-scenes photo album is equally fascinating.

We can’t imagine how many hours it took the guys from juggling troupe Synchronicity to create this stop-motion Super Mario Bros. tribute video, created entirely by rotating the faces of hundreds of Rubik’s Cubes. Though this isn’t exactly the first time they’ve done this.

(PG-13) Contemplating suicide, a man with cannibalistic tendencies remembers the defining moments of his life. Director Nina Gantz’ award-winning stop-motion short is creepy yet tender, and filled with visual and emotional juxtapositions.

A wonderfully executed stop-motion short by animator Guldies, which makes a few simple hunks of modeling clay appear to come to life. We still haven’t figured out how he did the parts where the clay appears to jump completely off of the surface.

A wonderfully satisfying stop-motion time-lapse of the construction of the 4,016 piece LEGO Death Star, captured by Bart van Dijk. We love the way he morphed each frame of the build, so the bricks don’t just pop in, and instead emerge smoothly.

Stop-motion animator PES dusted off one of his classic clips, and remastered it in HD for us to enjoy. This spot for Steve-O’s now defunct skatewear brand Sneaux will put a smile on your face in exchange for just 30 seconds of your day.

Scott Portingale’s stunning short film is an abstract look at the evolution of matter and energy, created using a mix of time-lapse, high-speed, and stop-motion photography. Incredibly, the images were were made with fluids and handmade props, not CGI.

Frank Howarth is back with another awesome build – this time, he’s created a wonderful turned bowl using walnut and maple, with CNC cloud-shaped forms set into the sides. The stop-motion and orbiting time-lapse of the build is just the icing on the cake. (Thanks Victor!)

Director Peter Sluszka’s upcoming stop-motion comedy takes on cop drama tropes, replacing the typical human cast with puppets that look like food. The film recently raised some production funds on Indiegogo, so hopefully we’ll see the whole 20 minute movie soon.

In 2008, stop-motion master PES scored one of his biggest YouTube hits with Game Over, which recreated the death scenes of five video games: Centipede, Frogger, Asteroid, Space Invaders and Pac-Man. This 1080p version makes it easier to marvel at PES’ genius.
