Gameboy Custom makes some of the wildest Nintendo Game Boy mods we’ve ever seen. They have a transparent Game Boy Color with a Pokémon card inside, a dual-screen Game Boy OG that plays DS and GBA games, and even a Game Boy with a case made entirely of LEGO. They also take custom orders, with options for the case, buttons, screen, and more.

Get your day started right with this weird and wonderful mashup from remixer Bill McClintock. Combining Pantera’s Cowboys from Hell, Teena Marie’s disco-funk track Square Biz, and Iron Maiden’s Wrathchild makes absolutely zero sense, but as usual, Bill created a delicious musical melange from seemingly incompatible ingredients.

We always figured if you were going to upgrade the plastic case on a handheld game system, you’d want to go for aluminum or maybe carbon fiber. But Peter Knetter is a bit of a contrarian, so he downgraded his GameBoy Advance SP by building it a case, buttons, and D-pad out of cardboard.

Inspired by the Nintendo GameBoy Color he had when he was a kid, artist and electronics wiz Jiri Praus made a custom version of the handheld, featuring a shiny brass front and a see-through back which exposes its meticulously bent brass wiring. He had to use an emulator instead of original hardware, but it’s still beautiful.

You’ve come a long way to the 31st Century, baby. SquidPhysics put together this fun mashup of Fatboy Slim’s 1998 hit Praise You and the chime-heavy theme song from Futurama. They meld together so seamlessly, they might as well have been the same song.
