The fastest Jaguar drop-top yet, it has the same supercharged 550hp 5L V8 found in the coupe, making it go from 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds. Also has a wider bumper and carbon fiber trim.
We first spied Local Motors’ Rally Fighter back in 2009. The latest build offers a 6.2L, 430HP V8, with 424 lb-ft of torque. Oh, and you get to spend 6 days in their shop to help build your own car.

Just when you thought the MINI couldn’t get any smaller, BMW revealed their tiny $22k two-seater, which tops out at a zippy 149mph in an upgraded 208hp, $32k John Cooper Works version. Vid here.
The revamped M5 may not look much different, but under the hood it’s got a powerful new Twin-turbo V8 with 560hp and a 0-to-60 time of 4.4secs. Add on the “drivers package” for a 190mph top speed.
Only 100 of these race-ready bikes will be made, powered by a fiery 185hp, 1190cc V-Twin engine. With a pricetag of $39,999, only serious racers need apply. Add $4k for the carbon-fiber edition.
The open-top version of the R8 Spyder may be made for cruising, but it’s still a beast under the hood, with a 5.2L 560hp V10 engine powering it from 0 to 60 in 3.8s. Limited to 333 units.
The 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster trades the coupe’s iconic gullwing doors – and its hardtop – for a soft top that stows away in 11s, but it’s still a supercar, with a top speed of 197mph.
Has a 465hp 6.4L HEMI V8 engine, 175mph top speed, paddle shifters, Brembo calipers and a tech-packed interior, and options like a 900-watt, 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
Modern technologies encased in a body inspired by the original Beetle, the 2012 Beetle is wider, lower and sports a more aggressive look. It’s also the most fuel efficient, able to get up to 33mpg.
Jaguar’s debut of their thrilling new pinnacle model, the 550 hp XKR-S coupe, has been revealed at the New York Auto Show; it boasts a top speed of 186 mph and goes 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds.
Steve Saleen’s SMS Supercars 2012 Mustang 302 mods come in 440hp, 545hp and 575hp variants with upgraded suspension, exhaust and visual details. Prices start as low as $35k.
The 2012 C63 Mercedes AMG Coupe boasts the SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission and a 6.3-liter V8 with 451 hp, peak torque of 443 lb/ft, 0-60 in 4.4 sec and top speed of 155 mph.
Inspired by the classic Jaguar E-Type, VizualTech’s Growler E will get a limited run of production cars in 2012. Powered by a 5.0L supercharged V8, this exotic ride will likely cost $700k or more.
The Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 has a carbon fiber monocoque, 700hp 6.5L V12 engine and speedy ISR transmission. 0-62 in 2.9s, top speed 217mph. Will go on sale for about $380K this year.
The Aston Martin Virage and drop top Volante are powered by a 490 hp 6.0 L V-12 with 420 lb/ft of torque; they also boast an Adaptive Damping System and Carbon Ceramic Matrix brakes.
