Inspired by the classic Whisky Smash cocktail, Kilinga’s version adds a little extra fruit with the inclusion of pineapple, but it’s still light enough in style to allow aged Kilinga Bacanora Reposado to be the hero of the glass.
Pineapple Mint Smash
1 ½ oz Kilinga Bacanora Reposado
½ Lime (fruit)
1 ½ tsps (¼ oz) Sugar or Simple Syrup
1 oz Pineapple Juice
6 Mint leaves
Method: Chop half of a fresh lime into four chunks. Add lime pieces and sugar to a cocktail shaker and muddle to extract juice and oils from the lime. Add Kilinga, pineapple juice, and mint leaves to the shaker. Fill the shaker with ice and shake hard. Fine-strain the drink into a lowball glass. Fold in crushed ice until the ice forms a mound above the rim of the glass. Garnish and serve.
