Melissa McCarthy stars in this comedy about a woman who comes face-to-face with an AI who says that it will destroy the Earth if she can’t prove that humanity is worth saving. James Corden voices the machine, while McCarthy’s husband and writing partner Ben Falcone directed the film. Drops 11.26.2020 on HBO Max.

Sam Raimi’s original The Evil Dead movies were some of the most entertaining, goriest, and outlandish horror flicks of all time. Screen Junkies fondly looks back at The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, and Army of Darkness as Ash takes on the Deadites with his boomstick and chainsaw hand. Groovy!

It’s a story that’s been told in books, movies, and articles, but we still don’t know who D.B. Cooper really was. HBO’s documentary shines new light on the story of the unidentified hijacker who extorted $200,000 in ransom, parachuted out of the airplane, and vanished along with the money. Premieres 11.25.2020.

LEGO and Star Wars team up for a holiday feast to celebrate Life Day. The animated special reunites Rey, Finn, Poe, Chewie, Rose, and the droids, and pays tribute to classic Star Wars moments, including the so-bad-it’s-good 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special. Coming to Disney+ 11.17.2020.

Sidney “Sid” Phillips was the neighborhood bully in Toy Story who got served his just desserts when he messed with Andy’s toys. This parody trailer by Poster Boys envisions what happened to Sid as he grew up, endlessly haunted by visions of Woody and his deformed toy pals.

In case the COVID-19 nightmare isn’t scary enough, Songbird is a dystopian thriller that envisions the pandemic four years into quarantine when the virus has changed. So has humanity. The world is in lockdown with “sanitation” squads forcing infected people into camps, resulting in a terrifying end-times Romeo & Juliet story.

Most of us think of Hawaii as an idyllic vacation paradise and a place of majestic natural beauty. But filmmaker Christopher Kahunahana’s Waikiki changes that, presenting a dark portrait of a woman tormented by an abusive ex, and the odyssey that unfolds after she hits a homeless man with her van.

Directed by Alex Winter (of “Bill and Ted” fame), this documentary takes us deep into the world of musician Frank Zappa. The film features never-before-seen footage and interviews with Frank’s friends and peers to help paint a picture of a man who defied labels and genres and fought to preserve America’s freedom of speech.

The Mandalorian is returning to Disney+ on 10.30.2020, so it only makes sense that Screen Junkies would seize upon the chance to make an Honest Trailer for the hit series. Despite being such an excellent show, they still found plenty of reasons to poke fun at its characters and storylines.

George Clooney directed and stars in this film about a scientist in the Arctic who must warn a group of astronauts not to return home to Earth after a global catastrophe has devastated the planet. Based on the critically-acclaimed novel Good Morning, Midnight. Drops 12.23.2020 on Netflix.

Eugene Evans and Margot Robbie star in this depression-era drama about a young man who discovers a fugitive hiding on his family’s land. As he comes to learn more about her, he struggles between the riches of a bounty put on her head and his growing attraction for her. In theaters 11.13.2020 and streaming 11.17.2020.

Ted Ngoy came to America from Cambodia in search of a dream, and he made it happen. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s he dominated the donut business on the West coast. Then it all came crashing down due to his gambling addiction. Director Alice Gu’s documentary goes inside of Ted’s meteoric rise and fall. Drops 10.30.2020.

Acclaimed director David Fincher looks back at 1930s Hollywood as told through the eyes of famed screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz. Gary Oldman portrays the prolific, satirical, and alcoholic writer as attempts to finish his screenplay for Citizen Kane. Coming to select theaters this November and Netflix on 12.4.2020.

(PG-13: Language) Beloved Aussie comedy group Aunty Donna has scored themselves a Netflix series. Titled Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun, expect the show to offer the trio’s trademark absurdist sketch comedy, along with cameos from stars like Ed Helms, Kristen Schaal, Paul F. Tomkins, and “Weird” Al Yankovic. Drops 11.11.2020.

(PG-13) A family takes a holiday vacation, but for some reason, their parents choose to put them up in a creepy old mansion that used to be a Children’s hospital. Naturally, really bad stuff starts happening, and their Christmas is ruined as the toys left behind start coming to life. Stream it just in time for Halloween on 10.27.2020.

After the gods of Olympus defeat the titans, a group of terrifying giants rises in their place. Can Heron, the half-human son of Zeus, help save humanity? Its man versus monster in this upcoming Netflix anime series, inspired by ancient Greek mythology. Drops 10.27.2020.

“You’ve literally just brought home a random bear.” The live-action/CGI movie Paddington tells the story of a family who offers a place to stay to a bear in need. But with a little help from YouTuber Scuffed Asian, Paddington’s visit just became a whole lot more ominous.

If you’ve never seen the original Scream, then go watch it and come back afterward to avoid any spoilers. Otherwise, sit back and enjoy as Screen Junkies rips into the flesh of Wes Craven’s 1996 classic that breathed fresh life into the horror genre by poking fun at the horror genre.

A man spends his days watching people’s lives on Earth through a wall of televisions. When one of them dies, it’s his job to interview the souls of other candidates to decide whether they are qualified to be born. Edson Oda’s award-winning film looks like an intriguing study of human nature, presented artfully.

Walton Goggins stars in this mockumentary about a legendary pitchman who helped put the Ford Bronco on the map. Among it’s “facts” are how Ford named the Bronco after the man, who became so popular that he had his own breakfast cereal, action figure, and cologne. The 40-minute film premieres on Hulu on 10.15.2020.

A couple is headed to their friends’ tropical island wedding aboard a small airplane when the pilot suffers a fatal heart attack. This tense thriller puts us inside the cockpit as they try to survive with no flying experience, surrounded by ocean, and a dangerous storm closing in on them.

Ryan Reynolds stars in this comedy-action flick about a guy who lives inside of a video game, but isn’t yet self-aware of his lot in life as an NPC. But when he finds out the truth, he turns his virtual world upside-down. Originally slated as a summer release, Free Guy now drops 12.11.2020.
