To celebrate the awards, Screen Junkies looks back at the movies nominated for Best Picture and offers their snarky take on some great films like the wildly inventive Everything Everywhere All at Once and the enigmatic Banshees of Inisherin.

In 1976, he helped mount a campaign to overturn the 34-year ban and prove that pinball is a game of skill, not a game of chance. In theaters 3.17.23.

Before you start scratching your head, Tetris doesn’t feature a bunch of animated anthropomorphic puzzle blocks. Instead, it’s based on the true story of the man who invented it, the publisher who discovered it, and the hurdles he faced in licensing it from the USSR for Nintendo’s Game Boy handheld. Coming to Apple TV+ 3.31.23.

This star-studded science fiction series is set in a future where society has overcome many challenges with science and technology, but climate change eludes them. As eight interconnected stories unfold, we learn about humanity’s battles in the face of a seemingly insurmountable crisis. Drops 3.17.23 on Apple TV+.

We knew James Gunn couldn’t do the final Guardians movie without Zoe Saldaña. So Gamora is back, only she’s an alt-timeline version who couldn’t give a damn about Peter Quill. We’ll also learn about Rocket’s devastating origins, meet the powerful Adam Warlock, and the nefarious High Evolutionary. GoG3 hits theaters 5.3.23.

Ben Affleck directed and stars in this drama about athletic wear giant Nike as it struck its game-changing partnership with Michael Jordan. Affleck portrays Nike boss Phil Knight, while Matt Damon plays the man who took a gamble on a rookie NBA player to help spawn the company’s new basketball division. In theaters 4.5.23.

Christoph Waltz portrays an intimidating new boss sent to run a successful game developer after its CEO is killed in his office. The dark comedy will follow Waltz’s efforts to unnecessarily streamline operations as his staff tries to figure out the real reason he showed up. Drops 2.24.23 on Amazon Prime.

Just 17 years too late, Screen Junkies is here with their take on these mother-f**king snakes on this mother-f**king plane. We still have no idea how the makers of this completely implausible B-movie ever got an actor of Samuel L. Jackson’s caliber to sign on, but it’s a camp classic for the ages.

Eugene Levy stars in this series in which the SCTV and Schitt’s Creek alum agrees to visit places he never dreamed of going before. While we’re not expecting the hijinx of Karl Pilkington’s An Idiot Abroad, we’re looking forward to watching this fish-out-of-water travel show when it arrives on Apple TV+ 2.24.23.

Now that Din Djarin has reunited with his pint-sized companion, The Mandalorian’s third season sets the duo on a journey toward Mandalore. Set against the backdrop of the rise of the New Republic, our heroes find themselves pulled into new conflicts as Grogu hones his skills. The season kicks off on 3.1.2023 on Disney+.

Liam Neeson takes on the role that Humprey Bogart established as detective Philip Marlowe. Filmmaker Neil Jordan directed this grand film noir, which follows the story of the brooding, down-on-his-luck private dick hired to find the ex-lover of an enchanting and mysterious heiress.

Jim Gaffigan and Rhea Seehorn star in this offbeat indie film about the host of a failing children’s science show who has dreamed his whole life about becoming an astronaut. After a series of strange encounters, a pile of space junk lands in his yard, and it could finally be his chance. In theaters 2.24.23.

(Spoilers) Rian Johnson’s Glass Onion is a wonderfully entertaining mystery that both pokes fun at and embraces the old whodunnit genre. Screen Junkies offers a playful roasting of the mystery and its colorful cast of characters. And we finally learn who voiced the Hourly Dong.
