While music store performances aren’t always the best, you’ve got to hand it to this little old lady who stopped by La Crosse, Wisconsin’s Coalition Drum Shop to turn in an impromptu performance. (Thanks Aaron!)

While we’ve had it up to here with movies being released in 3D for no good reason, we’re thinking that Metallica’s epic new concert film – which entwines a story about a roadie on a mission – will be well worth a watch in IMAX 3D.

The latest guitar track from Acoustic Labs’ Greg Johnson is a brilliantly intense fingerstyle rendition of the familiar theme from Halo. Crank it up, close your eyes, and imagine waves of grunts, elites and jackals coming your way.

Using only a bass guitar – and lots of tinkering, musician Ran Mussman managed to put together this brief, but impressive medley of Queens of the Stone Age tunes without using any other musical instruments.

An epic beatbox performance by artist Tom Thum captured during TEDxSydney this past May. The man makes noises we had no idea humans could create. We wouldn’t want to have to clean the spit off of his microphone.

Turns out precision and versatility aren’t just for Swiss Army knives. The Top Secret Drum Corps out of the historical drumming city of Basel, Switzerland put on an astounding show at the 2012 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

This one nearly got lost in our queue. Good thing we listened to it for the millionth time. A thumping track from DJ collab TNGHT. Clear your surroundings, plug in your best speakers and prepare to lose your mind. OOOOHHH!

We thought this was pretty great, but then we saw Todd Edwards’ spectacular homage to 80’s movies and music in Story of the Running Wolf’s latest video. Limahl, Laura Branigan and A-Ha would be so proud. (Thanks Ben!)

The video for Pixies new single offers – as its creators LAMAR+NIK put it – “SMOKE BOMBS. MILK BATHS. TEEN ANGST.” They forgot to mention FROOT LOOPS. It’s great to hear that Black Francis and the gang still have it too.

Comedians Reggie Watts and Aziz Anzari improvise a sexy love song about going out on a date, eating a sandwich and some cheese. It’s almost like Flight of the Conchords live on in their bloodstreams.

Yep, we know. Dubstep has way overstayed its welcome. But we rather enjoyed this unique take on Mark Rosas Higher played on a kid’s toy that makes animal noises. Plus, that ‘fro! (Thanks OrionFyre!)
