Working in collaboration with Wallpaper* Re-Made project, men’s apparel brand Vollebak comments on electronic waste with a unique timepiece. The colorful Garbage Watch is made from recycled components taken from old circuit boards. Vollebak is accepting waiting list requests for its 2021 release now.

Nursing homes have been on a lonely lockdown for months. Robert Speker, activities coordinator for the UK’s Sydmar Lodge care home, decided to entertain residents by recreating famous LP covers with their photos. All funds from their GoFundMe campaign benefit Alzheimers Society, Age UK, and Dementia Friends.

Video technician Denis Shiryaev of Neural Love took some early 20th century film footage from Tokyo, Japan, and processed it to increase its resolution and frame rate, repair damage, and add colorization. The result is sort of a living postcard of the time and place. The ambient sounds were previously added by Guy Jones.

Nervous System is known for their unique, mathematically-generated designs. After making a seashell puzzle out of sea creatures, they made a cat puzzle out of cats. The vibrant, 224-piece wooden puzzle features 43 tiny cats hidden within its otherwise abstract pieces. Also available as a 114-piece version with larger cats.

Sometimes, the blacksmiths at That Works like to make tools and weapons by recycling old metal. In this episode of their “From This to That” series, they take a big old link of a ship’s anchor chain, and transform it into a beautiful hammer with engraved detailing and a copper, silver, and gold inlay.

Specialty playing card maker Kings Wild Project designed this deck that’s inspired by the look of vintage mail and postage stamps. Even the tuck box looks like an envelope. We missed out on the limited edition, but the standard edition is still a fantastic looking deck.

Builder Phil Vandelay needed a door to separate two spaces in his workshop. Rather than just go with a traditional rectangular design, he fabricated a metal frame which folds into triangular sections when opening and closing it. The design was inspired by this one he previously saw online.

Builder Tim Sway always wanted to create a musical instrument without using any wood in its construction. So he set about crafting a fretless bass guitar from a thick sheet of clear acrylic and aluminum. Despite some challenges along the way, the finished result looks amazing.

Maker of things The Q has been on a bit of a roll lately, producing all kinds of nifty things for us to enjoy. Watch as he takes a copper coin, flattens it out, and turns the sheet metal into a working “paper” airplane. While it isn’t one of his more complex builds, it’s still a cool build.

Pastry artist Natalie Sideserf thought it might be fun to make a cake that looks just like a McDonald’s Egg McMuffin. Her replica is so spot-on that the only way you could tell the difference is once you cut into it and see the shockingly green buttercream frosting layered inside.
