Our friends at Everyday Carry sat down with Daniel Kane, founder and Chief Product Officer at Ridge, to chat about how he started making unique wallets and how the industry has changed over the years. Daniel talks about his product design inspirations and how his company grew from his garage to a multi-million dollar business with an extensive product line.

This scalpel-style pocket knife is great for carving, whittling, slicing, and light-duty cutting tasks. It has a stonewashed titanium hilt, a steel blade holder, and takes replaceable #24 blades. It measures 5.49″ when opened and its blades are 1.41″ long. It also comes in PVD black, ruler, bird, and suminagashi patterns.

Jonny Builds shows off another impressive piece of furniture – a record cabinet with a segmented wood door. He started by assembling grain-matched panels for the top, bottom, and dividers. To make the door, he took an 8-foot-long black walnut slab, cut it into boards, sliced it into 109 strips, glued them to canvas, and CNC milled the awesomely wavy shapes.

TUMI offers a modern spin on classic aluminum luggage. Each of these 19 Degree bags has an aircraft-grade aluminum shell stamped with a dynamic pattern at a 19º angle. Models include continental, international, and compact carry-ons, an extended trip case, a backpack, a rolling trunk, and a briefcase. The bags come in silver, black, blue, green, and rose.

This mini flashlight from Lumintop is a great addition to any keychain. It outputs up to 570 lumens with a visible beam distance of 135 meters (~442 feet). It comes with a rechargeable 10180 battery and either a neutral white or cold white light source. An optional bundle includes an aluminum extension tube and a more powerful 10440 battery.

Got a wry sense of humor? Get a Whiff makes delightfully fragrant candles with names like Sage Against the Machine, A Mustache, a Pipe, and Pretentious Behavior, and Let’s Snort Some Lavender. Each glass is filled with a hand-poured coconut wax blend with a mix of heady aromas to match its name. They also come in smaller tins and amber jars.

MecArmy’s miniature compass is small enough to wear as a pendant, on your keychain, or attached to a bag. It features a high-sensitivity movement with an anti-magnetic bearing and glow-in-the-dark markings and comes in copper, brass, or TC4 titanium for $10 extra. Measures 1.48″ L x 0.925″ W x 0.51″ H.

This impressive drinking vessel is like the Mjolnir of mugs. Weighing 22 pounds (or 10 kg for metric folks), it’s machined from stainless steel with thick walls and a welded-on knurled handle that won’t let you down. Despite its heft, it only has a 13.5 oz. capacity. Each is handcrafted, so there’s about a two-month lead time for orders.

Outdoor Vitals’ aptly named Shadowlight long trail backpack weighs less than 2 lb, including its frame and hip belt, but it carries up to 35 lb. It’s all thanks to the brand’s proprietary ripstop fabric. Its straps, hip belt, and removable back panel were all designed to be as ergonomic as possible. This tiny flashlight from Olight turns on automatically when detached from its ring. Keep its base attached to your keychain or belt loop, and pull on it to activate. It also has a built-in magnet to attach it to metal surfaces and a charging connector that plugs right into a standard USB-A port.

Uncrate and DC Comics teamed up with some of the best clothing and accessory brands to create the Wayne Enterprises collection. They feature subtle branding in the form of Bruce Wayne’s company’s logo and emphasize style and class over vengeance. Standouts include a leather folder, a brass and leather punching bag, and translucent gray sunglasses.

Peña Knives’ single-piece tool combines three useful features in one: a bottle opener, hex bit driver, and prying edge. Measuring just 2.75″ long, it’s equally at home on your keychain or in your pocket. Made from titanium with a rugged stone-washed finish.

These versatile camping utensils from UCO combine a spoon, fork, and knife. They’re made from lightweight, food-safe nylon and stack neatly thanks to holes for lashing the included tether. After prototyping a system for organizing the hardware in his workshop (aka “The Cave”), Adam Savage put his nose to the grindstone and built the entire setup. The rolling storage system has a plywood frame and custom-built metal shelves that slide out and hold Sortimo boxes for easy access to parts. It was immensely satisfying to see it all come together.

These battery-powered tabletop alarm clocks from Seiko feature a face and bezel design inspired by the Japanese brand’s iconic dive watches.
