We’re still waiting for the jetpacks that sci-fi stories promised, but flying cars are here. AirCar Prototype 1 has received a Certificate of Airworthiness with production models due in 2023. The push of a button transforms the two-seater between car and aircraft modes in three minutes.

This fifth generation flying car was invented by Professor Stefan Klein of Klein-Vision in Slovakia. It’s powered by a 140-horsepower BMW 1.6L engine, with a take-off and airborne cruising speed of 180 km/h at 2800 rpm. AirCar’s land speed exceeds 160/km per hour. It weighs just 1,100 kilograms to keep it light on its wings.AirCar Prototype 1 Flying Car
