Lexus just rolled out two new vehicles for 2024, including a 3-row family SUV designed for space and everyday cargo carrying. The Lexus TX has more reserved styling than other recent Lexus vehicles, something that’s sure to please more conservative buyers. Expect a smooth and quiet ride, along with responsive handling, which Lexus prides itself on these days.
The TX is available with three powertrain options: The TX 350 has a 2.4L turbo engine that makes 275 hp and 317 lb-ft. of torque; the hybrid TX 500h pairs that engine with an electric motor for 366 hp and 409 lb-ft. of torque; the TX 550h+ is a plug-in hybrid with a 3.5L V6 and the best power and fuel efficiency of the bunch, with 406 hp and up to 30 MPG. The entry-level model is available in front-wheel or all-wheel drive, while both of the hybrids are all-wheel drive. The TX 500h is also available with Dynamic Rear Steering, which can improve cornering response and turning radius.
Four TX grades will be available, including Standard, Premium, Luxury, and F SPORT Performance. 20" or 22" alloy wheels are standard, depending on the model and grade you choose.
You can expect plenty of cargo space in the TX, with 20.1 cubic feet behind the third row, 57.4 cubic feet behind the second row, and a massive 97 cubic feet when both rows are folded.
Inside, expect premium materials and modern technology, including a 12.3" multi-information display and an available 14" multimedia touchscreen running the latest Lexus Interface. Safety is a priority for any family vehicle, and Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 comes standard on every 2024 TX. An optional Advanced Park system helps drivers park and exit parallel and perpendicular parking spaces, and Traffic Jam Assist makes it easy to manage driving in low-speed stop-and-go traffic.
There's tons of space inside the TX. The second-row seats are available as either captain's chairs or a 60/40-split folding bench. The fold-down third row offers above-average legroom and is designed for easy access thanks to a pushbutton slide and fold feature for the second row.
Lexus says the TX 350 and TX 500h will go on sale in the Fall of 2023, with the TX 550h+ arriving at a later date. Pricing has yet to be announced.
