We spent a week getting to know the most potent and capable Jeep Wrangler you can buy. Combining a HEMI V8 engine with a heaping helping of off-road equipment, this special Rubicon 392 Final Edition is fast, feature-packed, and ready for adventure. Priced at over $108K, as seen here, it’s also the most expensive Wrangler we’ve ever driven.

This extra-brawny Wrangler offers an impressive 11.6 inches of ground clearance and will wade through water up to 34.5 inches deep. A 47-degree approach and a 40-degree departure angle mean this Jeep will easily climb steep hills and boulders. It rolls along on chunky 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires for maximum grab. Those are wrapped around 17-inch beadlock wheels with a bronze finish, an accent color you'll find throughout this special edition Jeep. It also has premium Dana front and rear axles.Driven: 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition

At the heart of this beast is a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine that cranks out 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft. of torque. Combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission and full-time 4WD system, it'll launch the Wrangler 392 from 0-to-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. And not that you'll ever take this thing to a dragstrip; it can do a 1/4-mile in less than 13 seconds. Stomp your foot down on the gas pedal, and this thing takes off like a boxy rocketship. Just make sure to enable the performance exhaust mode for maximum enjoyment. While Wranglers can be a bit noisy on the highway, the delightfully throaty V8 exhaust note easily drowns out any wind or tire noise.Driven: 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition

This Wrangler gets a heavy-duty front bumper with an integrated 8000-pound Warn winch. It also has a Mopar triple-bar grill guard to protect the front of the Jeep from damage, LED fog lights, and functional tow hooks. It also comes with skid plates to help protect its underbody while driving on rocky terrain. Mopar rock sliders along its sides double as steps for getting up into the tall cabin. Corning Gorilla Glass helps protect the windshield from chips and cracks.Driven: 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition

You'll find bronze 392 Final Edition graphics on the front fenders and hood, and that special accent color turns up on the Jeep logo, Trail Rated 4x4 badge, tow hooks, and interior stitching as well. This color contrasted nicely against our test Jeep's bright Hydro Blue pearl coat paint.Driven: 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition

Available exclusively as a 4-door model, this Wrangler comfortably seats five adults. The 392 Rubicon comes standard with a removable hardtop, but ours was equipped with the Sky-Touch power top, which slides the roof open with the press of a button like a convertible. It opens and closes in just a few seconds, which is good news if you've ever been caught in the rain with the roof off your Wrangler. You can still remove the doors and rear windows for a more open feel, but the roof structure remains.Driven: 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition

As a Rubicon model, this Wrangler comes with all the off-road bells and whistles you need to conquer the roughest terrain. For starters, there's a two-speed transfer case that offers a 4LO mode for extra torque at low speeds. Front and rear axle lockers help evenly distribute power from left to right, providing additional traction when needed. There's also an electronically disconnecting sway bar, dramatically increasing wheel articulation to keep your tires on the ground on uneven terrain. There are also a variety of drive modes for traversing snow, sand, mud, and rocks. The 392-exclusive Off Road+ button sets the drive train for higher-speed, Baja-style driving.Driven: 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition

While the interior isn't all that different from other premium trim Wranglers, there are a couple of notable upgrades to the materials. First, you get genuine Nappa leather seats embroidered with 392 Rubicon logos on the seatbacks. There's also a neat matte-finish material on the dash that has a technical look like carbon fiber from a distance but is actually a netted fabric. The front seats offer good support and keep you close to the wheel. Plus, they're situated up high so you can see over the big hood scoop and onto the trail ahead.Driven: 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition

Jeep has recently started offering a new 12.3-inch touchscreen in the Wrangler, and the larger display is a welcome upgrade. Front and rear cameras improve trail visibility in low-speed crawling, and the front view even shows your wheel position. Off-road pages provide graphics showing vehicle pitch, roll, steering angle, and the current settings for the axle lockers and sway bar. The UConnect 5 multimedia system has an easy-to-use and responsive interface, provides access to navigation, climate controls, and vehicle settings, and offers wireless support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A premium Alpine audio system kicks out the jams.Driven: 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition

Like any proper Jeep, it wears a full-size spare tire on its back door. Here, you'll also find a factory-installed Mopar table that folds down for serving food and drinks while tailgating or overlanding. Our test vehicle came equipped with an optional Mopar air compressor. It's a great feature when you need to air down and back up for off-roading, but the $1995 cost seems excessive when you can pick up a good portable air compressor for under $75. As part of the Final Edition package, you also get an 83-piece Jeep tool kit that packs a variety of high-quality steel wrenches, drivers, and other hand tools for performing repairs while away from civilization.Driven: 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition

Having ample cargo space is essential if you're going camping or overlanding. Thanks to the Wrangler's tall and boxy design, there's plenty of space in the back. Even with the second row in use, you get 27.7 cubic feet of cargo space; with the seats folded, that increases to 67.4 cubic feet. It'll have no trouble carrying a tent, folding tables, chairs, backpacks, and other camping gear. There's enough room back here for a twin-size inflatable mattress or one of the many custom inflatables available for the JL Wrangler 4-door.Driven: 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition

There's much to love about the Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition. It's the fastest factory Jeep ever, and it's ready to handle just about any terrain. Plus, this particular model has premium materials and some bonus features that make it extra special. But you'll need deep pockets to buy one. The base price for this Wrangler is $100,590, and the sticker on ours was $108,475 after options and a hefty $1,895 destination fee. Originally planned as a 2024 exclusive, Jeep has decided to offer the Rubicon 392 Final Edition as a 2025 model as well. While that might not make collectors happy about its rarity, more buyers will enjoy this very special send-off for what is likely the last V8-powered Jeep.Driven: 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition
