Lexus’ popular RX crossover gets a sleek new look. The spindle grille now morphs into the body and is flanked by integrated headlamps. It rides on a new platform with a lower center of gravity and is up to 198 pounds lighter. Powertrain options include a 2.4L turbo-4, a hybrid, a turbo-hybrid, and a future plug-in hybrid model.
The 2023 RX will be offered in six grades: Standard, Premium, Premium+, Luxury, F SPORT Handling, and F SPORT Performance. The latter packs a turbocharged engine and a rear motor that combine to produce 367 hp and 406 lb-ft. of torque, along with a performance-tuned DIRECT4 all-wheel drivetrain, 6-piston brake calipers, and 21-inch aluminum wheels.
The interior of the new RX has a refined design with an airy and open feel. A digital dashboard, head-up display, and 14-inch touchscreen display are available, and the new Lexus Interface Multimedia System and Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 come standard.
