The muscular brother to the Alfa Romeo Tonale compact crossover, the Hornet is the first Dodge vehicle with a hybrid electric drivetrain. The Hornet R/T has a 1.3L turbo engine and rear motor that combine to make 285 hp and 383 lb-ft. of torque. As a PHEV, you can plug it in and get 30 miles of pure electric range too.
The Hornet GT has a conventional 2.0L turbo 4 that makes 265 hp and 295 lb-ft. of torque. Both models come standard with all-wheel drive. Like other Dodge vehicles, a variety of performance-oriented add-ons will be available, including a lowered suspension, 20" wheels, unrestricted exhaust, and more. The base price for the Hornet GT is $29,995, while the more powerful Hornet R/T will start at $39,995. Expect the GT to arrive at the end of 2022, and the R/T to hit dealers in Spring 2023.
