We were fortunate to spend several days dashing through the snow in Ram’s 702 horsepower sleigh. Designed like the comfy seats in a First Class airplane cabin, they let the driver and passenger catch a nap between job sites or when arriving too late to set up a campsite.

Because we can never get enough explosions around here, sit back and enjoy the fiery destruction as this tricked-out diesel truck experiences a catastrophic failure on the dynamometer, the likes of which we’ve not seen before. Thankfully nobody was injured in the big kaboom.

Because the 702 horsepower Ram 1500 TRX isn’t enough, Hennessey Performance Engineering has taken the pickup and bestowed it with an extra set of wheels, and a tuned 7.0-liter Hellephant engine that makes more than 1200 hp. Hennessey will build just three of the $500,000 trucks, which go on sale 9.4.2020 at noon CST.

It’s built from riveted and welded aluminum and fits most mid-size and full-size trucks.

Building upon the TRX concept, Ram is finally making a production version of this powerful off-road truck. It packs a monster 6.2L supercharged V8 that makes 702hp, launching the truck from 0 to 60 in 4.5 sec. The lifted truck has 11.8″ of clearance, is 6″ wider than a standard Ram 1500, and rides on massive 35″ all-terrain tires.

Ford’s popular F-150 pickup truck has a bold new exterior and interior, and can be equipped with all kinds of goodies, like a PowerBoost hybrid engine that goes 700 mi per tank and tows 12,000 lb, a Pro Power system which lets you plug in power tools in the bed, a tailgate work surface, and a huge 12″ touchscreen among other things.

Inspired by GMC’s badass sports pickup trucks of the early ’90s, Specialty Vehicle Engineering’s modern take is based on a 2021 GMC Canyon, bestowed with a supercharged 5.3L V8 that makes 750hp and 600 lb-ft. of torque. Its suspension has been lowered, and it has all-wheel drive for fast launches and confident handling.

When it comes to half-ton pickup trucks, the best you can buy today is a RAM 1500. And if you want to take one off-road, the RAM 1500 Rebel is the most capable of the bunch. We spent a week with the new EcoDiesel Rebel both on and off the pavement, and found a whole lot to love about this rugged yet modern truck.

During a police chase in McLoud, Oklahoma a cop attempted a PIT maneuver on a fleeing pickup truck, causing the vehicle to lose control and flip. But rather than stopping the criminals in their tracks, the truck righted itself and kept on driving. The cops eventually got the scofflaws though.
