98-year-old Eddy Goldfarb is one of the world’s most prolific toy designers. Eddy has invented over 800 toys, including those chattering teeth, the game KerPlunk, and the Bubble Gun. Filmmaker Lyn Goldfarb’s documentary paints an endearing portrait of the man who has brought joy to so many, and also happens to be her father.

The Mandalorian merchandising machine is hard at work, and now Disney and Hasbro have teamed up to create a special-edition blaster based on Din Djarin’s Amban rifle. It measures 50.25″ long and makes screen-accurate blaster sounds. It also has a light-up scope and comes with 10 silver-colored NERF Elite darts and display packaging.

The Fidget Flip is a unique stress-relief toy that combines visual and audible stimuli to keep your mind occupied. The laser-cut acrylic plaything is filled with exactly 750 tiny metal spheres, which create a calming sound and mesmerizing visual as you tilt it from side-to-side. Not recommended for young children, lest they crack it open.

The Ghost Trap is one of the iconic pieces of paranormal paraphernalia from Ghostbusters. In the movies, the device emitted sparks and plasma arcs as it gobbled up lost souls. This Ghost Trap replica from Numskull Designs emits a wisp of fragrant smoke instead. This clever collectible drops in March 2021.

Medicom presents one of the toughest takes on Batman, inspired by the armored bat-suit in Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. It features an aging Bruce Wayne beneath the hood, ready to beat down the most violent Gotham City criminals. The 6.3″ tall figure includes three heads, interchangeable hands, and a cloth cape.

UK toymaker Playforever creates wonderful little cars with designs inspired by classic sports and race cars, but exaggerated to make them a bit more playful. They feature shiny ABS plastic bodies and fat rubber tires. Tenacious Toys offers many of the cars here in the US.

Jason of JK Brickworks shows of an amazing LEGO kinetic sculpture of Greek goddess Artemis. When a crank is turned, she draws her bow and fires an “arrow” made from a piece of flexible tubing. The mechanism’s design was inspired by a wooden automata created by Del Cat.

Toymaker Beast Kingdom just made The Mandalorian as adorable as Baby Yoda. This highly-articulated 6″ figure features a big-headed Mando, wearing a real fabric costume and cape, along with his Amban rifle, pistol, Beskar steel bar, Mythosaur skull ornament, jetpack, and a messenger bag with The Child peeping out.

Funko presents a collection of Pop! vinyl toys inspired by classic McDonald’s characters from the 1970s and 1980s. The series includes Ronald McDonald, Officer Big Mac, Grimace, Mayor McCheese, Hamburglar, the Fry Guys, Birdie, and a few anthropomorphic McNuggets.

Rocket & Klein’s limited-edition desktop toys are inspired by classic sports cars of the 1940s through the 1980s. They come in five streamlined shapes and are made using automotive-grade materials and coated with three layers of non-toxic, UV-resistant paint. Each car measures appx. 12″ long and rides on rubber tires.

Real world astronauts are subjected to intensive training, including time in a centrifuge that creates intense G-forces. It’s no different for LEGO astronauts, as the Brick Experiment Channel attached the minifig Benny the Astronaut to a motorized rig, then spun him up to 5000+ RPM. A spinning camera monitored his condition.

This 1/6th-scale set includes precision sculpts of Princess Leia and Wicket the Ewok from Return of the Jedi. Accessories include Leia’s camo poncho, helmet, and blaster, and Wicket’s spear. LEGO is showing off an awesome set based on the flying Batwing from Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman. The 2,363-piece advanced set measures 22″ wide and 20″ long once complete, and includes minifigs of Batman, The Joker, and the Boombox Goon. Now you just need a moon lamp to hang it in front of. Like Odd Tinkering and Rescue & Restore before him, TRG Restoration gave a rusty Tonka truck a new lease on life. But he went one better, and once he cleaned it up and repainted it, he added a 4×4 R/C drivetrain and lifted suspension so it can be driven off-road. The metal body does it no favors in the speed department though.

Fans of The Mandalorian can soon get their hands on this adorable LEGO version of The Child aka Baby Yoda. The 1073-piece kit builds a 7.8″ tall version of the littlest could-be Jedi, and features a posable head, movable ears, and an adjustable mouth. Drops 10.30.2020. Designer agepbiz has been creating a series of fun 3D-printable models which can be stored inside of a matching toy egg. Each one is designed to be printed in place, without the need for support structures. You can download the models to print your own over on Cults.

This fan-built LEGO Godzilla is truly impressive. It took Frenchy Bricks Junky about 4 months to put together this 4,000-piece monster, with its awesome scaly texture. You can purchase the building plans from Rebrickable for about $20 – bricks not included, naturally.

While we’d love to have a Boston Dynamics Spot robot to play with, the $74,500 price tag exceeds our toy budget. The Petoi Bittle may not be as large or sophisticated, but it certainly reminds us of the quadruped. Sold as an easy-to-assemble kit, the tiny robot uses 10 servos and a custom circuit board to control them.
