The guys at CineFix recut footage from the Will Ferrell Christmas classic, and transformed it into a dark and twisted psychological thriller – a story about an mentally-unstable man who becomes obsessed with his newfound family.

(Flashing lights) Ellie Fanning stars as a young aspiring model who is “devoured” – figuratively, we hope – by Los Angeles’ beauty-obsessed women. It seems like your usual Nicolas Winding Refn film, blurring the line between the grotesque and the beautiful.

The latest trailer for 10 Cloverfield Lane outlines the movie’s plot but still keeps us on the edge of our seats. It seems like something really bad actually happened to the rest of the world, but it also seems like John Goodman’s character is one of those bad things.

A sort of soul-sequel to Matt Reeves’ and J.J. Abrams’ Cloverfield,, the story of a woman who wakes up from an accident to find she’s been sequestered in a man’s basement, and the world has become uninhabitable. Or has it? From Dan Trachtenberg (Portal: No Escape).

George Clooney plays a TV financial show host who finds himself and his studio held hostage by an irate investor (Jack O’Connell) who lost his shirt on stock he bought on his advice. Also stars Julia Roberts, Dominic West and Giancarlo Esposito, and directed by Jodie Foster.

From Alfonso Cuarón and Jonás Cuarón (The father and son behind Gravity) comes a thriller about a group of men and women who attempt to cross the U.S./Mexico border, when they encounter an unrelenting killer. Stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Gael García Bernal.

(NSFW) In this dark comedy/thriller from director Kriv Stenders (Boxing Day, Red Dog), Simon Pegg plays a hitman who discovers he’s not the only one who wants to kill his target, a mysterious woman living in an idyllic beach town.
