You can feel the Marvel Cinematic Universe converging in Thor: Ragnarok, as the silliness of Guardians of the Galaxy seems to be rubbing off on our favorite Asgardian. It doesn’t hurt that it was directed by the man behind Eagle vs. Shark and What We Do in the Shadows.

“Get a job? Are you serious? I have a job. You know what my job is? I save the planet.” Thor’s housemate Darryl wants the god of thunder to pitch in with rent, preferably with “human dollars.” Thor responds with a factual boast and a not so factual biology lesson.

“Fury! What does he really know, and is “Fury” his real name?” Get a taste of Taika Waititi’s (What we Do in the Shadows) take on Thor in this short mockumentary, which shows what the god of thunder was doing while the rest of the Avengers were at each other’s throats.

Sufficiently Advanced stuffed a powerful battery-powered electromagnet in a toy replica of Thor’s hammer. The magnet turns on when the handle is held, so it’ll stick to magnetic surfaces… unless you have Sufficiently Advanced’s thumbprint. Or you’re smart.

Illustrator Josh Lynch has an ongoing series of illustrations where he turns Marvel superheroes into dogs. We can’t decide which one we like best. MODOG is probably the right answer, but we love the Mr. Fantastic dachshund so much.

Armorer Tony Swatton continues to build out his arsenal of melee weaponry with Thor’s mighty Mjölnir. Swatton built this impressive hammer with a hollow chromoly steel head so he could actually lift it, though it still weighs about 20 lbs.

Known to most for his performance as Loki in the Thor and Avengers movies, actor Tom Hiddleston has a talent we didn’t know about. He can bust some serious moves. Watch as he impresses a crowd at an appearance in Korea.

YouTuber Mr88668866 used clips from various superhero movies and the trailer for DC Universe Online to create a fan trailer for a bank-breaking blockbuster movie. Black Widow and her pistols look even more pitiful here.

An ancient race led by the evil Malekith (Chris Eccleston – the ninth Doctor Who) is hellbent on throwing the universe into chaos. Naturally, Thor must use his powers – and his mighty hammer to restore order to the Nine Realms and Earth.

Last year Marvel fans at the San Diego Comic-Con were dazzled by Iron Man. This year they were peppered with insults by the God of Lies and Mischief. And they gleefully took it all. Longer video here.

Capital Breakfast DJ’s Lisa Snowdon and Dave Barry had their guest Chris Hemsworth break some uncomfortable news from the family of one of their listeners as Thor. Odin’s son did it in one take.

Conan is concerned about the casting of Chris Hemsworth as Thor, but that’s because he saw the wrong video yet again. He saw the same trailer that we did, but he didn’t hear the same thing.

The thunder god gets down and dirty while still in his mortal – albeit still above average – form in this excruciatingly short clip from the movie. Watch out for a certain sharp-shooting Avenger.

While we’re holding out for the big screen take on Thor, Marvel is also releasing an animated version of the tale, taking place long before the mighty hammer. Out on Blu-ray, DVD and digital 5/17.

In the latest trailer for Thor, we get a better sense of the director Kenneth Branagh’s balance of lightheartedness and action, and we like what we see. The mighty hammer falls on May 6th.
