While they’re not as cool as Simone Giertz’s puzzle table, we think Jumbl’s jigsaw puzzle boards are great. They provide a smooth work surface with an edgeless design for sliding puzzles off, along with drawers for storing pieces. They also make a portable version that folds up and holds your pieces on a felt surface.

Ben from Woby Designs in an expert at making things by recycling skateboard decks. Watch how he made this awesome looking dining table by stacking thin slices from more than 30 skateboards on edge, nailing them together, and then sealing them with clear epoxy. Unnecessary Inventions’ playful coffee table offers a clever commentary on “some assembly required” furniture. When you want to use it as a table, you need to place all 91 of its pieces in the proper places. Its top is made from baltic birch, which sits atop an MDF grid and steel hairpin legs. Measures 40″ w x 20″ d x 16″ h.

Benewin’s sturdy and outdoor-friendly table is a notch above others. Their larger model measures a substantial 47.3″ x 23.6″ x 17.4″, and packs down to just 26.3″ x 9.8″ x 7.1″. Its made from solid wood and features a removable roll-up top and triple folding legs. They also make a smaller 35″ wide model.

While it might look really cool to have a coffee table made of molten lava, it wouldn’t last long, and your house would surely burn down. On the other hand, this table from Positive Couple looks the part, without the deadly heat and fumes. They built it using backlit crystals, oak, and epoxy, set onto an aluminum base.

Jigsaw puzzles can be loads of fun, but they also take up lots of table space. Simone Giertz came up with a solution by designing and building a an overly-complex dining table. Its tambour wood roll-top conceals a jigsaw puzzle compartment that rises like an elevator. That painter’s tape and glue clamp is a neat hack.

Just because you’re outdoors doesn’t mean you have to keep your stuff on the ground. This lightweight, portable table provides a heavy-duty ripstop nylon tabletop, set atop a folding aluminum structure. Four built-in cupholder baskets ensure your drinks won’t tip over.

UK shop Creative Carving makes these detailed round tables, carved with images inspired by Star Wars. Darth Vader scowls in the center, surrounded by characters, ships, and locations from a galaxy far, far away. The tabletops are made from engineered wood and include metal legs. Measures 23.6″ dia x 16.1″ h.

Artist Greg Frehr creates these playful dining tables that replace ordinary chairs with swings. SwingTables have an outdoor-safe powder-coated steel frame, a wooden tabletop, and wooden swings to sit on. They come in 2-seat, 4-seat, 6-seat, and 8-seat variants and disassemble into sections for shipping. Cushioned seats are available.

Regal Robot makes a series of fun cafe tables that take advantage of their shape to display iconic circular images from Star Wars. The Holochess, Death Star II, Imperial logo, and Death Star Countdown versions are our faves. Available in cafe or pub heights (30″ or 42″), or as a standalone tabletop without the base.

Woodworker Jonathan Katz-Moses shows off a really cool piece of furniture he built that seems to defy logic and gravity. Its structure was tricky to engineer and build, but the result is something we’d be thrilled to have in our living room.

We’ve seen a table that incorporates LEGO into its center before. But rather than using concrete, builder Nick Zametti made his table from two large slabs of burled wood and filled its center with LEGO bricks and a river of resin to hold them in place. We like how he created scenes and didn’t just pour in a bunch of random bricks.

Koble’s wood and fabric side tables feature an integrated Bluetooth Speaker, along with a 5-watt wireless charging plate on their surface. They come in two designs – the rectangular Ralph, and the circular Zain, which adds USB charging ports and a subwoofer.

This unique piece of wood furniture from Solidhorse features a modular design that lets you adjust the heights and positions of its shelves using pegs. It comes with two serving/display shelves and two small bottle holders that are great for serving wine and other spirits. They also make a similar laptop desk and folding table.

Furniture designer Stelios Mousarris created this unique ping pong table with a mountainous metal base. The 3D-printed steel wire mesh started as data from Google Earth, then translated into a 3D model. A removable wire net at its center means its walnut tabletop doubles as a dining table.

Give your home an explosive new look with one of these handmade hand grenade side tables from Reimagined Wood Shop. Their skeletonized design cuts down on weight while still offering rigidity. They’re cut from 0.72″ thick hardwood veneer plywood and come in 18″ tall and 24″ tall variants. Just don’t pull that pin.

Artist Nick Zammeti shows off a wild-looking dining table that he built using a combination of rustic wood planks, resin, and thousands of colored pencils. What makes it especially cool is the river of pencils that flows down its center and off of the table into a waterfall at its end.

Carpenter David Lundell enjoys making furniture that incorporates hidden storage compartments. Each one works like a puzzle box, requiring a specific sequence of actions in order to access its contents. Here’s another version he built for hiding away guns, booze, and a poker set.

Designer Ian Stell created the Waldhexen, an innovative coffee table that can change shapes by pushing or pulling on its six sides. It took Positive Couple a ridiculous amount of time to cut out, sand, and arrange the numerous slices of aluminum tubing they used to make this unique piece of furniture. We’re not so sure about the quilted denim sides for the desk, but the geometric patterned desktop is pretty spectacular.
