Shark Attack Mitigation Systems wetsuits allegedly lower the risk of shark attacks. The white and black wetsuit emulates the look of undesirable prey, while the blue one should make the wearer less visible in water.

Similar to the Surf Air, the Gnaraloo is an inflatable paddleboard. It comes with a storage bag that doubles as a backpack, a hand pump and an aluminum paddle. It takes only a few minutes to inflate and supports up to 249lb.

This compilation video (a GoPro camera tribute) is filled with excellent viewpoints from a variety of sports, which always manage to inspire us, as we sit inside, with the A/C on, typing this.

Quiksilver pays tribute to 39-year old surfing legend Kelly Slater, who clinched his record-breaking 11th ASP World Title last Nov. 3. The song is Scott Nixon’s remix of Black Flies by Ben Howard.

Rip Curl teamed up with TimeSlice Films to capture “full-tilt surfing action” similar to the bullet time scenes from The Matrix. The effect was achieved by using an array of 30 GoPro HD cameras .

The Wavecave is a surfboard bag and tent in one. It can carry up to 4 surfboards, and the 12mm foam padding that protects the boards doubles as the bed when the Wavecave is set up as a tent.

Designed by Thomas de Lussac, the Surf Air can be carried in a bag, and inflates in 2 minutes using the included pump. It’s made of a fabric that’s been coated with PVC to make it rigid. Video here.

Now that Argentine professional surfer Aritz Aranburu has modded his surfboard with LED lighting, we can watch him rip the waves up day or night, as seen in this vid here. (Thanks Brandon!)

A group of surfers were lounging at the famous surfing spot in California when dolphins popped up out of nowhere and jumped through the waves. Must have been magical for those who were there.

As if big wave surfing wasn’t enough, veteran surfer Bruce Irons offers a flair for the dramatic as he rides atop a wave with lit flares attached to his board. Looks like he’s surfing on a lava flow to us.

Meant to help beginners enjoy and help surfers do away with paddling, the WaveJet has two battery-powered jets that can propel riders at 12mph. It comes with a bracelet remote control/kill switch.

A 24min. long video that’s not nearly long enough to capture the tricks, the atmosphere and the joys of surfing, featuring Quiksilver’s team of surfers. These guys have one of the best jobs in the world.

The kickflip is a basic trick in skateboarding, but pulling a clean one on a surfboard is another thing altogether. Here’s Zoltan Torkos doing the first surfboard kickflip ever caught on video.

The coolest thing about tarp surfing is that you can’t drown. Plus, you can do it anywhere – without waiting for high tide. Heck, you can even do it in a parking lot. Added bonus: no sharks.
