Made By Skateboarding shows us the process of taking old skateboard decks, slicing, relaminating, and reworking the wood to transform them into new objects. In this case, we get a cool pocket knife we’d be proud to own. You can buy their knives here.

Earlier this year Braille Skateboarding tested a skateboard that had a glass deck. It went down just as you’d expect. But apparently a company called Invizaboard has developed a similar product that’s actually usable. Skip to 4:15 to see it in action.

An incredible, one of a kind electric guitar, handmade using layers of laminated scrap skateboard wood by 2ndShot’s John Gibson (so we guess it’s a Gibson guitar of sorts). It’s fully playable, with Humbucker and hand-wound single coil pickups, and a maple neck.

Dortmund-based Tom Wilhelm makes ’70s-themed cruisers by hand. His trademark design is a deck carved from a single piece of wood with a bold color or pattern painted on its lower half. The decks are made of a variety of wood, including zebrawood, walnut and ash.

Unlimited Engineering’s Eon is an easy to assemble kit that is compatible with practically any skateboard deck. It lets you go up to 22mph for up to 7.5mi per charge, but you can also opt to have dual motors, dual batteries or both for more speed, power and range.

The second generation of the hit electric skateboard features a ton of improvements, such as a new hot-swappable battery system, an optional larger capacity battery, a water-resistant cover for the electronics and an external port for accessories.

Acton went for a more traditional size than others, and a 15mph top speed to come up with one of the most affordable electric skateboards you can get. The Blink Board lasts up to 6mi per charge and has two speed modes.

Razor’s new casterboard is a spin-off of its popular RipStik. The RipSurf has a flexible one-piece board and two angled 360º casters for fun and sustained carving, though you can pull off skateboard tricks on it as well.

We don’t know if Joerg Sprave can ride a skateboard, but he can pull off one hell of a trick with it. Watch him turn a cruiser into a powerful compound slingshot that turns the wheels into pulleys.

Globe’s new GSB series skateboards have a built-in Bluetooth speaker that has a 50mm driver and a passive bass radiator. The speaker is water-resistant and dustproof and lasts up to 7h per charge. It comes with a USB charging cable.

For Halloween, Casey Neistat and Jesse Wellens did an updated version of the skateboarding Aladdin costume, turning a Boosted Board electric longboard into a magic carpet. An electric skateboard and Yeezy Boosts? He’s a prince indeed.

This past Earth Day, artist Mac Premo teamed up with skateboard makers Sanford Shapes to create a series of decks using old plastic paint buckets as their medium. They made forty boards, and gave them away to kids in NYC and LA.

Seasons makes longboard decks that can also be used as snowboards. Simply remove the trucks and wheels (both not included), attach your bindings and strap on your boots, and you’re good to go on snow or sand. Available in three sizes.

eBay seller andyshinkage turns discarded skateboard decks into eye-catching wall lamps. He makes light bulb mounts that thread through where the trucks used to be and places a 12W LED bulb in place of the wheels.

This unusual looking conveyance combines elements of bicycling, skating and scootering in one. Rear-wheel steering enables a tight 2-foot turning radius, and it brakes like a bike. Plus, it’s versatile enough to use for transportation or tricks. Available in three sizes.

Cocoa Motors’ WalkCar is an extremely portable ride. It’s about the size of a laptop and weighs 4.4 lb. to 6.6 lb. It has a 265 lb. capacity, goes up to 6.2 mph and has a range of 7.4 mi. It will be on Kickstarter this fall for about $800 (USD).

The Skurniture is a 7-ply maple skateboard deck with steel legs attached via Philips headbolts and lock nuts for trucks. The deck comes in natural or black while the legs come in red, white or black. You can also get just the legs.

Director Mac Premo and skateboard shop Sanford Shapes turned discarded buckets and plywood into skateboard decks as their contribution to Do The Green Thing’s Everyday Things collection.

Unlike other electric skateboards, the M1’s motors are integrated into its rear wheels for a more efficient and smoother ride. Its swappable battery lasts up to 10mi per charge. It can go up to 24mph but can be limited through its app.

French shop Boom-art printed two 16th century art works – The Lady and the Unicorn and The Garden of Earthly Delights – onto sets of three surfboards and skateboards. The surfboards can also be bought separately.
