Animator Nathaniel Akin’s lighthearted short film plays out entirely using old school typewritten ASCII art, and does a shockingly good job conveying its story and sense of humor despite its minimal characters.

“Kiwi tastes a golden nugget. It’s delicious.” German animation studio Film Bilder’s animated short film is a straightforward depiction of addiction. Although we must say we’d really like to try that nugget. Just once.

Chris Hardwick, Sneaky Zebra, Pwnisher, Rocket Jump, Screen Team and Mars Rising team up to defeat Wired’s giant robot in this cheesy action short film. Stan Winston School and Legacy Effects made the 9’9″ robot costume.

A journalist meets with a man who’s been sending him accurate predictions, claiming to be a time traveler. James Cooper’s short won’t wow you with effects or action, but Eric Johnson’s portrayal of the mysterious figure makes up for it.

(NSFW, Gore) “How’d this get so f***ed up so quick?” DANIELS – the directing duo behind the music video for Turn Down for What – present a short film about a ball, love and stuff. We have to lie down for a bit.

“The spirit of the bears has always been tied to the human cubs. It is our duty to protect them.” Tyler Novo’s work seems more of a teaser than a complete film, but the concept and score make up for it. In other words Tyler, we want more.
