Devespresso Games’ Vambrace: Cold Soul is a fantasy RPG that combines the side-scrolling combat of Darkest Dungeon with the choice-driven system of FTL: Faster Than Light. It’s coming to PCs, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch April 2019.

Divinity: Fallen Heroes continues the story of Divinity: Original Sin 2, but with more focus on the previous game’s turn-based combat. Recruit and level up characters, research new gear and fight your way through 60 missions solo or in co-op mode. Drops 2019.

The latest game in the fantasy and steampunk SteamWorld series. SteamWorld Quest is a turn-based action RPG where the robot heroes’ abilities come from customizable decks of cards. It will first be released to the Nintendo Switch in 2019.

From Gunpoint creator Tom Francis comes a turn-based tactical RPG set in a world where cops have magical powers. Tactical Breach Wizards will feature six distinct classes, a rewind mechanic and cosmetic rewards for skilled players.

Good Old Games worked with Blizzard to release an updated copy of the classic action RPG Diablo. The game now supports Windows 7, 8.1, and 10. It has support for higher resolutions as well as a lot of bug fixes. As with all GOG games, it is DRM-free.

The sequel to Ubisoft’s looter shooter takes place shortly after the events of the first game. The Division 2 is set in the summer in Washington D.C. The game packs more balanced weapons and gear, a revamped skill system and a new clan option for multiplayer.

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are the next mainline Pokémon games. Made exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, the games will feature an all-new region, new Pokémon, and beautiful cartoon-style 3D graphics. Both games will drop late 2019.

Bandai Namco is following up its hit Dragon Ball fighting game with an action RPG based on the legendary anime. Currently under the temporary name “Project Z,” it looks like the game will follow at least the first few acts of Dragon Ball Z, up until Frieza.

(Gore) Developer Mundfish gives us a peek at the world and aesthetics of its first-person action RPG Atomic Heart. There are strange robots, floating chickens and murderous androids in this alternate Soviet Union. It’s at once terrifying and intriguing.

Don’t be fooled by its modest graphics. CrossCode is one of the most enjoyable action RPGs for Windows and Mac. It puts you in the shoes of a mute gamer in the future as she plays a virtual reality MMORPG. It has fast-paced combat, and hard but satisfying puzzles.

Platinum Games and CyGames are working on an action RPG based on the hit mobile game Granblue Fantasy. Granblue Fantasy: Relink will feature characters from the original game and will have the option for multiplayer. It will be released on PS4 and possibly Windows in 2019.

From Obisidian, the developer of Fallout: New Vegas, comes a first-person RPG set in the future and in a space colony, like Mass Effect meets Fallout. The Outer Worlds appears to feature everything we loved about New Vegas. Drops 2019 for Windows, Xbox One, and PS4.

Eastward is a post-apocalyptic adventure RPG for Mac and Windows, with graphics that are inspired by ’90s anime. You play a miner who discovers a girl deep underground. Your quest to discover her origins will take you on a wild ride.

The latest trailer for Just Cause 4 is a cinematic look at the game’s insane weather and all the trouble and chaos that can come from it, whether brought upon by the enemies, who can somehow control the weather, or by Rico, who somehow doesn’t care.

No Diablo 4? No problem. Available on Windows and Xbox One, the free-to-play action RPG Path of Exile is coming to the PS4 as well. Dive into its passive skill tree, customize your skills with jewels, and specialize your character class with a sub-class.

Currently on Early Access, Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem is an isometric action RPG for Windows. It’s focused on player freedom and tons of loot. Instead of classes, players draw from three resources to use skills. Gameplay takes place in an open world.

Project Warlock is heavily inspired by the old school first person shooters such as Doom, Hexen and Wolfenstein. It’s filled with 60 levels filled with narrow corridors, demons and tons of weapons to unlock. Your character’s stats and spellcasting also improve.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is an RPG spinoff of The Witcher franchise, with the Gwent card game at its heart. The game takes place before the first game in the series and is about the Queen of Lyria and Rivia fighting the invading Nilfgaardians. Drops 10/23/18.

Heavily inspired by the sublime Final Fantasy Tactics, Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark is an in-progress, old school, turn-based tactical RPG for Windows and Mac. It features hand drawn graphics, over 20 classes and 200 abilities, and troop cosmetic customization.

From Shadowverse and GranBlue Fantasy developer CyGames comes an intriguing action RPG for the PS4. The cinematic teaser, which appears to be interspersed with actual gameplay, shows a medieval soldier tracking and going toe-to-toe with a giant beast.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will let players fight in three ways: stealthily as an assassin, long-range as a hunter, and close-range as a warrior. You can mix and match abilities from the three skill trees and even reassign them so you’re not locked in.

(PG-13) After years of waiting, we finally get a look at Cyberpunk 2077 in action. CD Projekt Red shared a 48-minute gameplay demo that was previously shown only to the press. It shows character creation, combat, hacking, and much more.
