Awesome Rings

Trust Ring Co’s striking piece of handmade jewelry is a truly unique gift for baseball fans. It’s been carved from real carbon fiber, and features an intricate baseball stitch pattern engraved around its edge, with a red finish for effect.

CoinCrafters makes beautiful rings out of Morgan dollars coins, which were produced in the late 19th century and early 20th century. The rings are available in polished silver, with a black patina, or colorized with a powdercoat finish.

We’ve seen how it’s possible to turn a bowling ball into a bowl. Carpenter Carl Jacobson was kind enough to send some of the scraps to jewelry artist Patrick Adair, who managed to transform the leftovers into some really cool and colorful rings, complete with a finger hole design.

Moon Raven Designs‘ tool-inspired ring looks like a miniature spanner wrench that’s been twisted into a ring. It’s a great gift for makers, DIYers, mechanics, and other tool enthusiasts. It’s made of silver-plated white bronze. It’s also available in women’s sizes.

Pablo Cimadevila is known for making beautiful custom made jewelry. A fan challenged him to make a ring out of a nut, and he obliged – with two nuts. Watch him turn the lowly fasteners into a lovely diamond ring in this wonderfully shot video.

MecArmy’s SK3FT Titanium Tactical Ring has a tungsten steel bezel that can break glass and is ideal for self-defense. It also has a built-in bottle opener at the back. You can also order it with a glow-in-the-dark bar.

Ignite! rings have a polymer core infused with glow-in-the-dark material. You can make it glow just by exposing it to light for a few seconds. The core is wrapped in carbon fiber then inserted into an outer shell made of volcanic rock. Available in six colors and three designs.

Jewelry artist Patrick Adair wows us with another incredible ring design – this time using a slice from a superconductor rod, then sanding facets onto it and acid etching the surface to create an incredibly cool texture. Check out one of his other superconductor designs here.

We don’t know if Joe Turner’s creation is indeed the world’s smallest chess set, but it could be the most portable one. Joe made the ring and all of the tiny chess pieces out of silver, then topped the ring off with a board made from fossil ivory and ebony.

Patrick Adair loves to make rings out of uncommon or unusual materials. For his latest project, he waited hours to be one of the first to get an iPhone 8. Then he promptly destroyed it to make an accessory that would be at right at home in The Ninth World.

Specdrums are electronic rings that let you map notes or sounds to any color around you. You can wear them, put them on sticks, and more. Their app lets you map colors to a variety of instruments as well as your own sounds. You can also use Specdrums with other MIDI apps.

Etsy artist Juan Hidalgo uses precious materials like gold, diamond and emerald to make wedding rings inspired by geeky franchises, like this awesome pair based on R2-D2 and C-3PO. They also have Stargate, Transformers, Pokémon and The Legend of Zelda rings.

UK-based Feather Pendants makes affordable rings, pendants and bracelets inspired by streetwear, hip hop and luxury brands. Their Rolex and MF DOOM rings are particularly nice. We’ll skip the guns and emoji though.
