We’ve seen some pretty damned impressive remote-controlled planes over the years, but this Mibo A-10 Thunderbolt II might be the best yet. The insanely detailed model has real jet engines, and even makes machine gun sounds and fires flares.

A fun stunt flyer you control using your smartphone. It’s designed for easy operation, and comes with a special joystick that sticks onto your phone’s screen. Flies for up to 12 minutes per charge with a range up to 200 feet.

Wonderfully illustrated paper models of classic warplanes that not only look cool, they actually glide. The bi-planes are great, but we’re suckers for the bent-winged Chance Vought F4U-4 Corsair. To be honest, after all the work it takes to build one, we’d be afraid to toss ours.

Flite Test takes a look at a DIY eight-rotor R/C carrier, partly inspired by SHIELD’s flying fortress. It’s not the first (or the second) of it’s kind that we’ve seen, but it’s fun watching smaller planes try to land on it.
