It may look like a Sharpie, but this former permanent marker hides a razor-sharp hobby knife inside. Vital Carry takes Sharpie barrels and fills them with a CNC-machined blade holder that keeps them securely in place with a set screw instead of those wobbly friction holders. Available in aluminum, copper, titanium, or brass.

Huion’s displays are created for artists and designers, with built-in pen support for drawing and painting on screen. The 24″ displays come in QHD (2560 x 1440) and 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolutions, and are Windows/MacOS compatible. Their battery-free pens have a 5080 LPI resolution, 8192-level pressure, and 60º tilt sensitivity.

This substantial metal pen is made from lightweight TC4 titanium alloy. It features a stone-tumbled finish and an engraved blue shield pattern reminiscent of a dragon’s scales. Upgrade your Sharpie permanent marker with this beautiful metal case from Maratac. It’s made from grade 5 titanium and has a tear-drop pattern that provides grip and visual interest. It has an O-ring to keep the pen from drying out and doubles as a pill or bill cache when there’s no marker inside.

Orangered Life is back with a new variant of their 30º Ruler. The Rulapen takes the angled aluminum measuring tool and adds a perfectly-matched pen that stows inside its body. The 6-inch / 15cm long ruler has precise Imperial and Metric markings, and its universal pen accepts more than 30 kinds of refills.

Olight’s bolt-action pen has a couple of tricks up its sleeve. In addition to its writing abilities, it has a green laser pointer and a tiny 120-lumen LED light in the top part of its barrel. It comes in black and limited edition purple and orange variants, and is also available in a bundle with the compact i3T flashlight.

Vital Carry is back with another neat pen design. The Mini-Bolt pen has a machined metal case with a grooved non-slip surface and a bolt-action mechanism which can be ordered left- or right-handed. Mega Process takes us on a tour of a factory that produces unique, high-end pens using 3D-printed metal. Merain Korea uses a selective laser sintering 3D printer to melt together thin layers of metal powder, then painstakingly deburr, clean, and plate each pen before assembly and packaging.

We’ve seen a lot of pens, but never one that looked like this. Extreme EDC’s tactical pen is made from aircraft-grade aluminum and has a glass breaker on its rear. Fisher Space Pens are known for their longevity and ability to write in tough conditions. Fisher teamed up with NIC Industries to create Cerakote versions of their Bullet and Cap-O-Matic Space Pens. This ceramic coating protects against grime while improving grip. They come in matte black, tungsten, and Black Cherry.

This unique pen packs a 130-lumen, fold-out flashlight and a double-headed blade with interchangeable tips. Its aluminum body has a built-in magnet, and you can flip between a ballpoint pen, a stylus, a glass breaker, and an eternal nib. Its light has three brightness levels, plus a flashing red and blue mode.

We love the clean and minimal look of this wooden pen and pencil organizer from Design Craft Workshop. It’s handcrafted from walnut and provides three angled shelves to keep your writing instruments from falling off your desk. The subtle curved inner edge is a nice touch. Measures 8.75″ L x 6.75″ W x .75″ H.

This limited edition release of Dango’s compact P01 pen is made from ULTEM, a high-strength, heat-resistant plastic used in aerospace. The lightweight pen has an amber-tinted ULTEM body which lets you see through to its ink cartridge inside. It has a tight-fitting cap that doubles as a stand and a lanyard hole at its rear.

Allegory Goods designed this series of handcrafted pens and pencils which incorporate reclaimed woods that date back thousands of years. They come with raw aluminum, gunmetal, burnt bronze, raw brass, or black hardware. The pen takes Parker/Pilot G2 refills, while the pencil accepts standard 0.7mm leads.

This sleek writing instrument features a titanium body with a Space Black finish. It offers a reassuring click mechanism, a tactile grooved finger grip, and a removable stainless steel clip. Accepts a variety of Schmidt Parker-style refills and a few others. It’s also available in Matte Grey.
