As desperately as this little guy tries to flap his wings, he’s not going anywhere. Seems like a good setup for a Dreamworks animated feature – except in that one, he finally manages to fly by strapping himself to a toy plane.
A flock of gentoo penguins does their best to make the vertical leap from the water onto the tricky surface of a huge iceberg in Antarctica – we had no idea they could spring out of the water like that.
Penguins are known for being charming, but we had no idea Chilly Willy could be so devious too. This particular guy goes around stealing rocks from the nests of other birds while they’re not looking.
A bunch of penguins pop by for a visit, when they hear it’s feeding time and head for the pond. At least most of them do. Somebody, take that little dude under their wing and show him the ropes.
There’s a rumor that planes flying over the heads of penguins makes them fall over and unable to right themselves, causing mass casualties. Russia Today’s reporters get to the bottom the story.
While it’s more than likely it took a pair of penguins to pull off this stunt, we like to think it was one insanely fast penguin darting through the water. Don’t blink, or you might miss it.
We’re not quite sure how this penguin at Boulders Beach in South Africa would survive if he missed a step in this death defying jump; fortunately we don’t have to worry about it. Awwwws all around.
Okay, now that we’ve gotten your attention, these penguins aren’t exactly the most acrobatic. But they do charm the hell out us as they try to figure out how to navigate the most minimal of obstacles.
