Awesome Pacific Rim

(PG-13) “Someone let them in. Someone from our world.” The latest trailer for Pacific Rim Uprising shows that our young heroes are thrust reluctantly into their roles when the kaiju unexpectedly return. Premieres 3/23/18.

We’re more than a little concerned that Guillermo Del Toro didn’t direct the Pacific Rim sequel, but the first trailer has more than enough Jaegers, Kaiju, John Boyega, Rinko Kikuchi, (and Tupac) to get us charged up for this popcorn flick regardless.

Bandai does justice to the Kaiju-conquering mech from Pacific Rim with this 9″ tall die-cast metal action figure. The Soul of Chogokin GX-77 Gipsy Danger has light up parts and sound effects and comes with chain swords, interchangeable hands and a cargo ship.

Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) and 32Ten Studios talk about how they built the pulse-pounding Hong Kong battle scene in Pacific Rim. ILM also has a couple more Pacific Rim behind-the-scenes videos on its YouTube channel.

The guys from How It Should Have Ended take on this Summer’s best popcorn flick with another alternative movie ending that would have been far more satisfying. They’re so right about that damned sword. Why don’t all Jaegers have one?
