Nissan’s entry to the LA Auto Show Design Challenge, the iV’s space-age looks belie its earthly origin – its synthetic ivy and spider silk frame is grown like a plant with the help of nanorobots.
We don’t always associate Nissan with luxurious sports cars, but this upgraded GT-R does have us drooling over its zesty 523-hp engine, enhanced aerodynamics and handcrafted leather interior.
We test drove the new Nissan Juke recently, and the sport cross proved to be a tight little ride; waist up, sports car with a 1.6L 188 hp engine; waist down, SUV with 17″ wheels. Coming October 2010.
A couple of years back, Sony had an awesome Bravia commercial with a ton of bouncy balls rolling down a hill. Nissan pays tribute with a slightly more destructive variant – bowling balls.
With their P800 kit, lightweight exhaust and new seats, Switzer Performance amped power up 300 hp and cut weight 200 lb on this Nissan GT-R, for a total of 800 hp and 700 pound-feet of torque.
Hot off the presses, Inifiniti’s QX56 luxury SUV has gotten an overhaul for 2011, stealing looks from the EX and FX with its curvy front-end. Expect a beefy 5.6-liter, 400-hp V8 under the hood.
Lean and mean, ABT’s R8 GT-R not only sheds 100 kg thanks to a carbon fiber hood, wing, door panels, and steering wheel, but boosts the 5.2L FSI to 620 hp, good for a 0-62 of 3.2s.
The 5.6L V8 400 hp/405 lb-ft Nissan Patrol is a sign of things to come for the U.S., both as the 2011 QX56 and as an Armada replacement; it’s sedate outside, but the interior is bling-tastic.
TommyKaira’s Nissan GT-R leaves performance alone but ups the aesthetic ante; the full kit packs a wet carbon front bumper and rear diffuser, F15 wheels, and optional dry carbon components.
Possibly the fastest production car ever built, 9ff’s GT9-R is an 1120 hp monster with a 257.2 mph top speed and a 0-300 kph of 15.8 s; the street legal car will be limited to 20 units.
Winner of the 2009 Design Challenge, Nissan’s V2G concept is short for vehicle to grid and not only envisions a moddable vehicle, but a high-speed solar-powered highway system.
Nissan’s 40th Anniversary 370Z celebrates four decades of the Z nameplate with a limited edition Touring Coupe; it sports “40th Quartz” paint, red leather, smoked wheels, and red calipers.
Green with a whole lot of lean, Nissan’s all-electric Land Glider concept sits on four wheels but handles like a bike; a computer controlled steering system lets it lean into turns.
The 2010 Leaf is Nissan’s first all-electric car and arrives stateside next year; it boasts zero emissions, a 100 mile range, 8-hour charge time, and an engine good for 107 hp and 208 lb-ft.
Nissan’s 370Z finally drops its top with the 2010 Roadster, which sports a one-touch fabric cover with automatic latching; it also features a glass wind blocker to minimize noise.
We’re jealous on way too many levels here: Sports Illustrated Swimsuit models pile into three Nissan 370zs in Las Vegas and then proceed to do donuts in a Luxor parking lot.
Nissan’s long-awaited uber-GT-R is here: the Spec V is a street-legal vehicle with carbon fiber weight-saving mods, Recaro buckets and a high gear boost controller for more torque.
Questionable yellow pinstriping aside, this tuned Nissan GT-R concept by Cobra Tech has us drooling over its 3.5s 0-60 time, made possible by ECU, pressure and air intake mods.
Riced out aero-kits aren’t for everyone, but NISMO’s 370Z S-Tune kit works well with its love-it or leave-it notched headlights; also upgraded: the brake pads, suspension and mufflers.
If your GT-R is lonely in that big ol’ acid-stained garage, check out this limited edition Snap-on toolbox; it’s covered with a Nissan GT-R graphic and includes a keyfob-shaped key.
It doesn’t get much better than this for car enthusiasts: watch this drag race between a Chevy ZR1, Ferrari 599, Nissan GT-R and a Porsche GT2. Hint: the Axis powers lose.
Official pics of the 2009 Nissan 370z are out; we’re hard pressed to see any changes, but we’ve always dug the original 350z. It’s powered by a 3.7L engine, the same one in the Infiniti G37.
