Awesome J.r.r. Tolkien

Artist Olivier Gomis paid tribute to The Lord of the Rings by creating a larger-than-life replica of The One Ring. He started by assembling wedges of wood into circles and smoothed them on a lathe. He then carved its engravings and added curly maple veneers so its lettering only appears when its hidden LED lights are switched on.

Fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasies will love to see this amazing wood carving by artist Jonas Olsen. After sketching out his concept, he took a hunk of burled wood and worked painstakingly with his Dremel to reveal the terrifying eye of the one dragon to rule them all, the mighty Smaug.

Fox Searchlight’s upcoming biographical drama shares the formative years of J.R.R. Tolkien. The movie will explore the events and the people – his wife and his “fellowship” – that he would go on to use as inspiration for his novels. Premieres 5/10/19.

(PG-13 Language) J.R.R. Tolkien takes on George R.R. Martin in an epic rap battle of the R.R.s. If the prize was strictly based on the amount of blood spilled, Martin would win, while Tolkien is the clear victor at the box office. Of course Martin does have Gregor Clegane on his side.
