EV startup Canoo is showing off the design for its compact electric pickup. The futuristic truck has modular bed dividers, a split tailgate, pull-out steps and bed extender, a hidden work table, and a front storage area with 110-volt and USB outlets. It will come in RWD or AWD with 300hp or 600hp, and a range of about 200 miles.

Given ElectroBOOM’s tendency to shock himself while working with electricity, we’re not sure that a 500,000-volt generator is a something he should tinker with. But that’s exactly what he shows off in this video, a high-voltage circuit made up by charging a number of capacitors in parallel, then connecting them in series.

EV startup Alpha Motor Corporation is showing off a sweet pure-electric vehicle that looks ready for off-road rallying. Sharing underpinnings from the Porsche Taycan, Audi’s performance EV produces 637 hp and 612 lb-ft. of torque, launching the AWD sportback sedan from 0-to-60 in just 3.1 seconds. The RS also has a lightweight carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic roof, matrix LED headlights, 20-inch sport wheels, and an upgraded interior.

Ford shook things up when they revealed they were making an electric crossover and calling it a Mustang. While it’s not a muscle car, the Mustang Mach-E is a most definitely a performance vehicle. We spent a week with the Premium AWD variant and were duly impressed with its power, handling, technology, and comfort.

Tesla takes us on a high-speed journey through the battery production line at their $5 billion Gigafactory. It’s a robotic ballet of epic proportions, as thousands of the individual cylindrical battery cells come together. While not a single human is seen in the video, Tesla is hiring people for their battery division.

It seems as if the primitive design of Tesla’s Cybertruck makes it fairly easy to replicate, so this one resourceful dad decided to build his kid a Cybertruck body for his electric go kart. Just for fun, he let the kid use it to tow his Mercedes-Benz R-Class MPV. It also does a mean J-turn.

One challenge for electric vehicles is the limited availability of chargers. Volkswagen is showing off a robot that can drive around a parking lot, connect to a vehicle, and charge it no matter what space it’s parked in. It can also leave a charging pack next to a car and fetch another to charge multiple vehicles at once.

Wheelkinetic claims their electric scooter is the most portable and lightweight model you can buy. The BooZter folds to just 10″ x 18.5″ – small enough to fit into a backpack – and weighs just 6.5 kg (14.3 lb). Despite its size, its makers say it can run up to 20km (12.4 mi) on a 2-hour charge. It has a 100 kg (220 lb) weight capacity.

Electric bikes can be great, but their limited range gets in the way of longer rides. The Rocket eBike promises rides up to 100 miles thanks to a big battery pack, efficient motor, and regenerative braking. The bike folds up small so you can toss it in your back seat, has a full suspension, and hits a max speed of 28 mph.

The eFTR Jr. is Indian Motorcycles’ first electric mini-bike for young motorcycle lovers. Paying homage to the FTR750 Flat Track race bike, the eFTR Jr. is powered by a 36v electric motor using a twist-handle throttle. The mini-bike plus protective apparel and accessories are built for riders 8+ and up to 175 pounds.

Built by STARD Austria for the FIA’s World Rallycross Projekt E series the Ford Fiesta ERX is an impressive pure electric race car capable of hitting 60 mph in just 1.8 seconds. Watch as pro driver Ken Block puts its 600 hp and 800 lb-ft. of torque to the test on the track, then leaves just a bit of rubber on the tarmac.

Taking inspiration from the electric quad bike teased by Elon Musk during Tesla Cybertruck reveal, the guys from Rich Rebuilds created their own interpretation of the vaporware all-terrain vehicle. Cranking out insane amounts of torque, Starscream is a pure-electric, rear-wheel drive ATV started life as a Yamaha Raptor.

German tuning firm Prior Design takes Porsche’s 750hp electric Taycan Turbo S and gives it the widebody treatment. Front fender flares add 60mm (~2.36″) of width, while the rears add 100mm (~3.93″), making way for enormous 22″ five-spoke wheels. Ample carbon aero components keep the EV closer to the ground.

Hyperion is showing off the XP-1, a hydrogen-powered electric car that’s said to zoom from 0-to-60 in under 2.2 sec. with a top speed of 220+ mph, and provide up to 1000 miles of range. Its futuristic cockpit touts a wraparound digital display and massive glass canopy. Here’s hoping it makes it past the rendering stage.

This burnout machine was built by Ford Performance and RTR to show off the potential of a pure-electric drivetrain. Based on the Mustang Mach-E, this one-off prototype uses seven motors and a high-performance battery to generate 1400 hp, while its monster wing and aero bits create up to 2300 lb of downforce at 160 mph.

Electric bikes are a genius solution for eco-friendly transportation.
