Awesome Dr. Seuss

A24 is the studio behind such dark and intense movies as Midsommar, Men, and The Lighthouse. Imagine what might happen if the indie studio released Mike Myers’ bizarre live-action version of Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat. It might look something like this terrifying horror edit from YourMovieSucksDOTorg.

With a little help from some beats by Dr. Dre, actor and comedian Wes Tank proves that Dr. Seuss books work exceptionally well as rap songs. His “Fox in Sox” rap is our favorite, but his versions of “Green Eggs and Ham” and “The Lorax” are pretty damned entertaining too.

Long before rap music existed, Theodore Geisel (aka “Dr. Seuss”) was a true master of rhymes. But could his words be used in a rap? Win Nevaluze proves just that, as he recites There’s a Wocket in My Pocket to the tune of Walk It Talk It by Migos f/Drake.

We were looking for some tunes to add to our holiday playlist, when we came across this little gem that dates back to 2009. Sit back and enjoy an extraordinarily baritone cover of Dr. Seuss’ You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch, as performed by the man behind Chocolate Rain.

Dr. Seuss takes the place of Stephen King as the author in But Without’s remix of the trailer from IT, which replaces the creepy clown with an equally creepy Cat in the Hat. It’s no coincidence that the cat was played by a guy named Michael Myers.

Voice actress Brizzy performs the Dr. Seuss classic Oh, The Places You’ll Go! in 68 different accents. While some of the variants are pretty subtle, and they’re not 100% accurate, her Jamaican and Vietnamese cracked us up.

If Dr. Seuss wrote a book based on Star Wars, it’d probably be better written than the entire script of Episode I. Artist Jason Peltz created these amusing Seussism posters, and make more, he must.

We’ve never heard Darth Vader described as “a bad banana with a greasy black peel,” but One Minute Galactica’s mashup of Dr. Seuss’s holiday classic with scenes of the Dark Lord fits perfectly.

Collegehumor parodies a Dr. Seuss classic worthy of applause from the doctor himself… except for the message of the whole thing. Don’t show this to your kids. Unless they need to be set straight.

Cartoonist Adam Watson imagines what it would be like if Dr. Seuss wrote Star Wars. Watson’s art is good, but it’s the prose that really ties things together. We hope he turns this into a whole book.
