Awesome Colorado

We headed to snowy Winter Park, Colorado with Rocky Mountain Redline to put AWD cars from Nissan, Dodge, FIAT, Acura, for some Honda through their paces for snowy autocross, drag racing, and donut-making fun. There were no winners or losers, just six great cars and crossovers, all of which can handle inclimate weather with aplomb.

As part of the festivities at the 2020 Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival in Colorado, the pyrotechnics experts from Steamboat Fireworks bested the previous world record for largest firework shell by launching a 62-inch explosive package sky-high, illuminating the night skies for miles around.

Our hands behind the wheel of GMC’s confident and luxurious SUVs and trucks, we headed into the snowy mountains of Vail, Colorado. There, we explored some of the natural beauty, hit some awesome snowmobile trails, enjoyed a luxury ski resort, and dined on delicious local cuisine.

Photographer Lars Leber captured this breathtaking footage captured from a vantage point above the clouds near Colorado Springs. By speeding up their movements using via time-lapse, the puffy white clouds look like the undulating waves of a surreal sky ocean.

This Steamboat Springs based outfit has been handcrafting skis for over 100 years. Built using layers of fiberglass, Kevlar, carbon fiber, and wood, with full-edge sidecuts, they’re ideal for fast, smooth, and stable carved-turn skiing.

It starts out as beautifully as most time-lapse nature footage does, but a couple of minutes in to Matt Johnson’s imagery of majestic Colorado, the fury of forest fires engulfs part of his frame. It’s at once both mesmerizing and haunting.
